Today, Russian forces conducted 48 airstrikes using 57 guided bombs. Additionally, they deployed 837 kamikaze drones and carried out more than 4,000 attacks on Ukrainian positions and civilian settlements.

Hottest directions and frontline situation

In Russia's Kursk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 44 enemy attacks, with 42 more ongoing clashes.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces attempted to breach Ukrainian defenses 40 times near the settlements of Myroliubivka, Promin, Sukhyi Yar, Pishchane, Kotlyne, Ukrainka, Yasenove, Novoyelyzavetivka, Tarasivka, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Zelene, Novyi Trud, and Pokrovsk. Ten clashes are still underway. The settlements of Oleksandropil, Tarasivka, and Hrodivka were hit by airstrikes.

"The enemy is suffering significant losses. Today alone, Ukrainian troops in this direction neutralized 375 Russian soldiers, 185 of whom were killed. They also destroyed three vehicles, a UAV control antenna, three motorcycles, three buggies, three artillery systems, and damaged two vehicles and two enemy cannons," the report states.

In the Kharkiv direction, Ukrainian forces repelled three enemy attacks near Vovchansk. Russian forces targeted the areas of Orishanka, Zolochiv, and Udy with guided bombs and launched unguided rockets at Hranyve in the Kharkiv region.

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy attempted three assaults on Ukrainian positions near Synkivka, Petropavlivka, and Zahryzove. All attacks were repelled. The village of Artilne suffered an airstrike with a guided bomb.

In the Lyman direction, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions 13 times near Nadiia, Pershotravneve, Terny, Yampilivka, Zarichne, and Makiivka. Currently, two battles are ongoing.

In the Siversk direction, the enemy launched two offensives against Ukrainian positions near Bilohorivka. Both were unsuccessful. At the same time, Russian forces dropped 12 air bombs on Siversk.

In the Kramatorsk direction, four engagements were reported near Chasiv Yar, Bila Hora, and in the direction of Stupochky. All enemy attacks were repelled. Stupochky was targeted with unguided aviation rockets.

In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces launched eight attacks on Ukrainian forces' positions. The enemy concentrated their main efforts near Shcherbynivka and Toretsk. One clash is still ongoing. Airstrikes using guided bombs were reported near Katerynivka, Toretsk, Oleksandro-Kalynove, and Oleksandro-Shultyne.

In the Kurakhove direction, the enemy remained active, launching 25 assaults on Ukrainian positions near Slovianka, Sribne, Andriivka, Petropavlivka, Kurakhove, and Dachne. Two battles are still ongoing. In the area of Andriivka, the enemy dropped two guided bombs.

In the Vremivka direction, Russian forces conducted 13 assaults near Kostiantynopol, Yantarne, Dachne, and Kostiantynopolske. Two clashes are ongoing. The settlements of Novopil, Oleksiivka, Velyka Novosilka, and Kostiantynopol suffered airstrikes.

In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian troops repelled one enemy attack near Novodanylivka. Stepnohirsk was targeted with unguided rockets.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the enemy attempted one unsuccessful assault on Ukrainian positions.

In other directions, the situation remains unchanged.

As a reminder, on January 6, the General Staff summarized the results of the fifth month of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ operation in the Kursk region. During this time, Russian losses in this direction exceeded 38,000 Russian soldiers, including around 15,000 killed.

This operation has several objectives and achievements. Its primary goal was to prevent an enemy advance into the Sumy region and to establish a so-called buffer zone. Additionally, the operation forced Russian forces to divert significant resources to the Kursk direction, thereby weakening other directions of their frontlines.
