Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of December 30

Over the past day, 186 combat clashes were recorded on the frontlines, with the enemy targeting Ukrainian military positions over 5,000 times, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.
According to the General Staff, the enemy launched seven airstrikes on Ukrainian positions and settlements, dropping nine guided aerial bombs.
In addition, Russia carried out over 5,000 shellings, including 188 from MLRS, and approximately 2,400 kamikaze drones were deployed.
The aggressor carried out airstrikes in areas near Rozlyv, Komar, and Serhiivka in the Donetsk region, as well as Zaporizke in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Yesterday, missile troops and artillery of the Defense Forces carried out nine strikes on areas of enemy personnel and military equipment concentration, along with one strike on a Russian fuel and lubricant storage facility.
Situation on frontlines
- Kharkiv direction: Ukrainian defenders repelled two Russian attacks near Hatyshche and Vovchansk; the enemy did not succeed.
- Kupiansk direction: Seven enemy attacks were recorded during the day. Defense Forces repelled assaults near Petropavlivka, Kucherivka, and Lozova.
- Lyman direction: The enemy attacked 27 times, attempting to advance near Hrekivka, Zelenyi Hai, Platonivka, Pershotravneve, Nadiia, Makiivka, Terny, Novoserhiivka, Yampolivka, Ivanivka, and Bilohorivka.
- Siversk direction: Russian forces made one failed attempt to displace Ukrainian defenders from their positions near Zolotarivka.
- Kramatorsk direction: Nine enemy attacks occurred near Chasiv Yar and towards Stupochky.
- Toretsk direction: Six Russian attacks were carried out near Shcherbynivka and Toretsk.
- Pokrovsk direction: Ukrainian defenders halted 43 enemy assault and offensive actions near Zelene Pole, Vozdvyzhenka, Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Dachenske, Novyi Trud, Vovkove, Solone, Novoolenivka, Novovasylivka, Shevchenko, Kotlyne, and Novoelizavetivka.
- Kurakhove direction: Defense Forces repelled 20 attacks. The enemy focused efforts near Ukrainian settlements Slovianka, Petropavlivka, Kurakhove, and Dachne.
- Vremivka direction: The enemy launched 20 assaults on Ukrainian positions near Kostyantynopilske, Yantarne, Uspenivka, Kostyantynopil, and Pryvilne, involving bomber aviation in the attacks.
- Prydniprovsk direction: Ukrainian forces successfully repelled two Russian attacks.
- Orikhiv and Hulyaipole directions: No active enemy operations were reported.
- Volyn and Polissia directions: No signs of the enemy forming offensive groups were observed.
At the border with the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the Russian army continues to use artillery against Ukrainian settlements and conducts reconnaissance activities.
In the Kursk region, the combat operation is ongoing. Ukrainian forces repelled 46 enemy attacks in this direction yesterday. Furthermore, the enemy launched 266 artillery strikes.
Russian losses
The Ukrainian Defense Forces are inflicting significant losses on the occupiers in manpower and equipment, actively undermining the enemy's offensive potential in the rear.
In total, Russian losses over the past day amounted to:
- Military personnel: 2,010 eliminated.
- Tanks: 7 destroyed.
- Armored fighting vehicles: 22 destroyed.
- Artillery systems: 44 destroyed.
- Operational-tactical drones: 31 destroyed.
- Automotive equipment: 141 units destroyed.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that the Russian forces attempted to advance near Kurakhove using aviation.
Furthermore, the enemy is focusing its main offensive efforts on the Pokrovsk, Kurakhove, and Vremivka directions, as well as actively attacking in the Lyman direction.
