Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of December 25
As of the evening of December 25, 211 combat engagements occurred in the frontline. Russian forces continue to attack intensively in the Pokrovsk direction, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the General Staff, the enemy launched one missile and 12 airstrikes, utilizing 78 missiles, 29 guided aerial bombs, and 690 kamikaze drones. Over 4,500 attacks were carried out on Ukrainian military positions and civilian settlements using various types of weaponry.
In the Kharkiv direction, three clashes with Russian forces occurred near Vovchansk.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy attempted seven times to dislodge Ukrainian units from their positions near Dvorichna, Pishchane, Kolisnykivka, and Lozova. One confrontation is ongoing.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy launched 26 attacks, attempting to advance toward Novoyehorivka, Kopanky, Zelenyi Hai, Makiivka, Terny, Yampolivka, the Serebryansky forest, and Druzheliubivka. Villages such as Nadiia and Zelenyi Hai came under Russian aerial rocket attacks.
In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled two enemy assaults near Bilohorivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled eleven Russian attempts to advance near the settlements of Stupochky, Chasiv Yar, and Bila Hora.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy tried to breach Ukrainian defenses twelve times. Since the start of the day, Russian troops were repelled eight times in areas near Toretsk, Diliivka, and Shcherbynivka. Four attacks are still ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy is intensively attacking Ukrainian defenders. Throughout the day, Russian forces launched 55 storming and offensive actions. The heaviest fighting continues near the settlements of Zelenе Pole, Vozdvyzhenka, Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Dachsenske, Pokrovsk, Novyi Trud, Zelenе, and Novotroitske.
Ukrainian defenders have already repelled 47 attacks in this direction, while eight engagements are still ongoing. At the same time, the enemy carried out airstrikes with guided aerial bombs on Pokrovsk and Kotlyne.
Enemy's losses in this direction today amount to 276 personnel, including 149 killed. Additionally, 14 vehicles, two quad bikes, one anti-tank missile system, and one mortar were destroyed. Another mortar and a vehicle were damaged.
In the Kurakhove direction, there were 31 engagements as of this report. Russian troops maintain high activity, attempting to advance near Petropavlivka, Slovianka, Yasenove, Kurakhove, Andriivka, and Dachne. Ukrainian forces have repelled 24 assaults, with seven still ongoing.
In the Vremivka direction, there were 34 clashes. Ukrainian defenders halted 33 enemy assaults near Kostiantynopolske, Yantarnyi, Kostiantynopol, Rozlyv, Velyka Novosilka, Novosilka, Blahodatne, and Vremivka. One attack remains active. The enemy also used aviation to strike the Vremivka and Burlatske areas.
In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian forces successfully repelled two enemy attempts to advance near Novodanilivka.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Russian forces twice failed to push Ukrainian units from their positions.
In Russia's Kursk direction, 26 clashes occurred today, with three still ongoing. The enemy also carried out 420 artillery strikes during the day.
In the Huliaipole direction, no active Russian operations were reported since the beginning of the day.
Enemy’s losses in the war
According to the General Staff, Russia has lost over 779,000 military assets since the start of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
In the past 24 hours alone, Ukrainian Defense Forces eliminated 1,600 Russian troops and destroyed four tanks, eight armored combat vehicles, 10 artillery systems, and other enemy equipment.
