As of the evening of December 24, there have been 248 combat clashes on the frontlines. The heaviest attacks by the occupiers are concentrated in the Pokrovsk direction, where they are suffering significant losses, reports the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Russian shelling

Russian forces launched one missile strike and 12 airstrikes on Ukrainian territory, dropping 29 guided aviation bombs.

In addition, the Russians deployed over 640 kamikaze drones and carried out approximately 4,000 shelling attacks on Ukrainian military positions and civilian areas.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy unsuccessfully attempted to storm our positions five times near Vovchansk and Vysoka Yaruha. Today, Ukrainian forces destroyed 45 occupiers and wounded another 46 in this direction, also neutralizing 11 drones, three vehicles, and three pieces of specialized equipment belonging to the Russian army.

In the Kupiansk direction, the Russian army conducted offensive operations near Petropavlivka, Kolysnykivka, Zahryzove, and Lozova. Ukrainian defenders repelled 15 enemy attacks, with eight ongoing.

In the Lyman direction, Russian forces launched 25 attacks on the positions of Ukrainian defense forces near Druzhelyubivka, Zelenyi Hai, Novoyehorivka, Makiivka, Terny, Torske, and in the direction of Hryhorivka. Four combat engagements are still ongoing.

In the Siversk direction, our defenders repelled an enemy assault near Bilohorivka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy attacked our positions near Chasiv Yar and in the direction of Stupochky. Ukrainian defense forces repelled seven enemy attacks, with two combat engagements still ongoing.

In the Toretsk direction, the Russian army made 15 attempts to advance on Ukrainian positions near Toretsk, Druzhba, and Dachne, with fighting currently occurring.

In the Pokrovsk direction, since the start of the day, the enemy has launched 54 attacks in the areas of Vozdvizhanka, Myrolyubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Novyi Trud, Dachenske, Shevchenka, Vovkove, and Novovasylivka. Our defenders have repelled 47 enemy assault attempts, with seven ongoing engagements.

According to preliminary reports, 261 Russian soldiers were neutralized on this front today, including 133 killed. A vehicle and a communication antenna were also destroyed.

In the Kurakhove direction, the enemy made 34 attempts to breach our defenses near the settlements of Petropavlivka, Shevchenko, and in the area of Kurakhove. Twenty-four combat engagements have concluded, while ten are still ongoing.

In the Vremivka direction, the enemy attacked our positions 33 times near Uspenivka, Yantarne, Kostiantynopil, Kostyantynivka, Rozlyv, Rozdilne, Novyi Komar, Novosilka, Velyka Novosilka, and Storozeheve. Ukrainian forces repelled 22 enemy assaults, with fighting still ongoing.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the invaders attempted twice to dislodge Ukrainian defense forces from their positions but suffered losses and were forced to retreat.

The operation in the Kursk region continues. Ukrainian defense forces have repelled 28 enemy attacks, with ongoing combat.

Russia's losses in the war

According to the General Staff, Russia's total losses in personnel since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine have exceeded 777,000 soldiers.

In particular, over the past day, from December 23 to 24, the Russian army lost 1,630 soldiers, 10 artillery systems, 44 drones, and other equipment in the war against Ukraine.
