Over the past 24 hours, on December 21, the number of attacks at the front decreased slightly. Most of all, the Russian troops stormed the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Vremivka and Kursk sectors, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“The situation at the front remains difficult. The enemy is using its superiority in manpower and equipment to attack Ukrainian positions. In total, 186 combat engagements were registered over the last day,” the report says.
At the same time, yesterday, the missile forces and artillery of the Defense Forces conducted ten strikes on the areas of concentration of enemy personnel.
The hottest areas
- In the Vremivka direction, according to the updated information, the enemy carried out 47 attacks on Ukrainian positions near Uspenivka, Yantarne, Kostiantynopolske, Novosilka, Blahodatne and in the direction of Rozlyv and Odradne.
- The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to repel attacks by the Russian army in the Kursk region. Over the past day, the enemy made 41 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders back.
Situation in other parts of the frontline
In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy continued assault operations, a total of 6 combat engagements took place. Fighting took place in the areas of Kozacha Lopan, Vysoka Yaruga and Vovchansk.
In the Kupiansk direction, 4 enemy attacks took place over the day. Defense forces repelled enemy assaults near Petropavlivka and Kruhliakivka.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked 20 times. He tried to advance near Zelenyi Hai, Hrekivka, Nadiya, Terny and Ivanivka.
Using aviation in the Siversk direction, the enemy attacked twice in the direction of Verkhnekamianske and Bilohorivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 29 aggressor attacks near Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Zelene, Novyi Trud, Dachenske, and Novovasylivka. The enemy was actively using aviation.
In the Kurakhove direction, the Defense Forces repelled 15 attacks in the areas of Staryi Terny, Kurakhove, and Dachne.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy conducted 2 assaults near Stupochky.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy carried out 6 attacks in the areas of Toretsk and Druzhba.
In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian positions were attacked seven times near Novoandriivka and Pyatykhatky on the last day.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled five assault attacks, the enemy was not successful.
No signs of enemy offensive groups were detected in the Volyn and Polissia directions.
On the border with Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the enemy is using artillery from the territory of Russia in the vicinity of Ukrainian settlements. It is conducting reconnaissance.
Russian losses in Ukraine
Over the past day, Russian losses amounted to 1,820 troops. Ukrainian soldiers also neutralized 15 tanks, 29 armored combat vehicles, 32 artillery systems, three air defense systems, 50 operational and tactical UAVs, and 81 vehicles.
It should be noted that on December 20, Ukrainian troops hit three Russian drone control centers. In total, more than 200 attacks took place at the front.
