Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of December 20
Over the past day, December 19, 191 combat engagements took place in the frontline. Russia attacked in the Kursk region the most, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“Over the past day, the aviation, missile forces, and artillery of the Ukrainian Defense Forces hit 9 areas of concentration of personnel, weapons, and military equipment, four artillery pieces at firing positions, 2 control points, and 2 other important Russian targets,” the General Staff writes.
Sectors
In the Kupiansk sector, 10 Russian attacks near Lozova, Zahryzove, and Kolisnykivka were repelled.
In the Lyman sector, Russians attacked 17 times near Tverdokhlibove, Zelenyi Hai, Terny, and Serebrianske forestry.
In the Siversk sector, Russians conducted 9 offensives in the areas of Bilohorivka, Hryhorivka, and Verkhniokamianske.
In the Kramatorsk sector, a Russian attack was repelled in the area of Chasiv Yar.
In the Toretsk sector, Russians attacked 12 times near Toretsk and Shcherbynivka.
In the Pokrovsk sector, 32 Russian attacks were repelled in the vicinity of Sukha Balka, Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, and other localities.
In the Kurakhove sector, Russia attacked 18 times in the areas of Sontsivka, Stari Terny, Andriivka, Kurakhove, and Dachne.
In the Vremivka sector, 23 Russian attacks were repelled in the areas of Uspenivka, Kostiantynopilske, Blahodatne, Neskuchne, and Novodarivka.
In the Orikhiv sector, Russia attacked once near Novodanylivka.
4 Russian attacks were repelled in the Prydniprovskyi sector.
In the Kursk region, 60 Russian assaults were repelled.
