Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of December 16

Over the past day, December 15, there were 228 combat clashes along the frontline, with the enemy most actively attacking in the Vremivka direction, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.
"Over the past day, the missile troops and artillery of the Defense Forces struck four areas of personnel, weapons, and military equipment concentration. In addition, one other significant target of the invaders was hit," the General Staff stated.
Frontline situation
- Kharkiv direction: Russian forces launched ten attacks in the areas of Vysoka Yaruha, Tyche, and Vovchansk.
- Kupiansk direction: Four attacks were repelled near Zahryzove and Lozova.
- Lyman direction: Russian forces attacked 20 times near Novoyehorivka, Hrekivka, Terny, Tverdokhlibove, and Nadiia.
- Siversk direction: 34 clashes occurred near Bilohorivka, Verkhniokamianske, Ivano-Darivka, and Vyjimka.
- Kramatorsk direction: Four attacks were repelled near Chasiv Yar and Stupochky.
- Toretsk direction: Russian forces attacked 12 times near Toretsk and Shcherbynivka.
- Pokrovsk direction: Ukrainian defenders halted 32 enemy attacks near Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Dachenske, Zelene, Pishchane, and Novoolenivka.
- Kurakhove direction: The enemy attacked 32 times in the areas of Stari Terny, Sontsivka, Zoria, Kurakhove, and Uspenivka.
- Vremivka direction: Russian forces carried out 35 attacks near Sukhi Yaly, Rozlyv, Zelenivka, Kostiantynopolske, and other locations.
- Prydniprovia direction: Ukrainian forces repelled five enemy attacks.
- Kursk region: The Defense Forces repelled 38 enemy attacks.
Russian losses in war
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost over 763,000 military personnel. Over the past day, Russian losses amounted to:
- 1,070 personnel;
- 12 tanks;
- 29 armored fighting vehicles;
- 23 artillery systems and more.
