Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of December 11
Since the beginning of December 11th and until the evening, 194 combat clashes have occurred on the front lines. The highest number of enemy attacks continues to be recorded in the Kurakhove and Pokrovsk directions, where Ukrainian defenders are inflicting significant losses on the enemy, reports the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff.
The military command updated the operational situation as of 10:00 p.m. Kyive time on December 11th.
Russian shelling
Since the beginning of the day, Russian forces have carried out 15 airstrikes and 2 missile attacks, using 24 guided bombs and 2 missiles for shelling.
Additionally, the enemy deployed 407 kamikaze drones and carried out nearly three thousand shellings of populated areas and positions of Ukraine's Defense Forces.
Frontline situation
The General Staff noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are focusing their efforts on disrupting the Russian forces' plans for an offensive and exhausting their combat potential.
In the Kharkiv direction, the Russian army unsuccessfully attempted to storm Ukrainian positions six times in the areas of the settlements of Hlyboke, Lyptsi, Starytsia, and Vovchansk.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy attacked the defense positions 14 times in the areas of Zapadny, Pishchane, Lozova, and Zahrizove. Three battles are still ongoing.
In the Lyman direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 10 enemy attacks near Tverdokhlibove, Druzhlyubivka, Novoyehorivka, Hrekivka, Makiivka, Terny, Torske, Hryhorivka, Kopanky, and in the Serebryanske Forestry.
In the Siversk direction, the enemy made one attempt to push the Ukrainian Armed Forces from their positions in the area of the settlement of Verkhniokamianske.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the Russian army made two unsuccessful attempts to advance near the settlements of Chasiv Yar and Stupochky.
In the Toretsk direction, the Russian army stormed Ukrainian positions five times in the Toretsk area. Two clashes are still ongoing. Enemy airstrikes hit the settlements of Krymske and Petrivka, where the Russians dropped three guided bombs.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions with the support of bomber aviation. Throughout the day, the enemy carried out 39 offensive actions in this area.
"The highest activity of Russian forces remains in the areas of the settlements of Shevchenko, Pishchane, Novotroitske, Novooleksiivka, Novyi Trud, Dachenske, Lysivka, Myrolyubivka, Promin, and Pokrovsk," the General Staff reported.
The Defense Forces are holding their positions and have repelled 36 enemy attacks. Three clashes are still ongoing.
"According to preliminary estimates, today our forces eliminated 187 and wounded 239 Russian soldiers. One mortar, one portable electronic warfare station, and eight units of Russian automotive equipment were destroyed. Additionally, one armored combat vehicle was damaged," the General Staff reported.
In the Kurakhove direction, 47 battles have already taken place. The enemy attempted to advance in the areas of Sonchivka, Stari Terny, Dachenske, Zoria, Kurakhove, Dachne, Katerynivka, Yelyzavetivka, Hanivka, Antonivka, and Uspenivka.
"Our defenders in this direction eliminated 68 and wounded 122 Russian soldiers, and also destroyed two tanks, eight armored combat vehicles, and seven units of enemy automotive equipment. Additionally, an enemy tank and four armored combat vehicles were damaged," the military command's report stated.
In the Vremivka direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 19 enemy attacks in the areas of Trudove, Kostyantynopil, Sukhi Yaly, Blahodаtne, and Novodarivka. One battle is still ongoing.
The General Staff noted that during offensive actions, the Russians actively used aviation in the areas of the settlements of Komar and Rozliv, dropping 10 guided bombs (KABs).
In the Huliaipole direction, the enemy did not carry out any attacks.
In the Orikhiv direction, the Ukrainian forces repelled one enemy attack near Novоandriivka.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Russian forces carried out two unsuccessful assaults.
In the Kursk direction, the Ukrainian forces repelled 21 enemy assaults. Additionally, the enemy carried out 316 artillery shellings of settlements in the region and positions of Ukraine's Defense Forces.
The General Staff added that no significant changes in the situation occurred in other directions.
Earlier on December 11th, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi stated that intense battles are still ongoing in the Pokrovsk direction, where the enemy currently outnumbers Ukraine in terms of manpower. The general mentioned that unconventional decisions are being made to enhance the defense's resilience and more effectively eliminate the occupiers.
It was also reported that over the past day, Russia's losses amounted to another 1,400 soldiers. Additionally, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed two tanks, 20 armored combat vehicles, and three artillery systems of the enemy.
