Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of December 9

As of the evening of December 9, 151 combat engagements occurred in the frontline. Russian forces are attacking most actively in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the General Staff, the enemy conducted 34 airstrikes, dropped 54 guided bombs, deployed 681 kamikaze drones, and carried out nearly 4,000 shelling attacks on Ukrainian positions and settlements.
In the Kharkiv direction, Russian forces launched five assaults near Hlyboke and Vovchansk, all unsuccessful.
Today, Russian forces suffered 54 casualties, including killed and wounded personnel. Ukrainian units destroyed two vehicles and 16 enemy drones while also damaging two armored combat vehicles and five trucks.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy launched seven attacks near Lozova and Zahryzove, with two ongoing clashes. Russian guided airstrikes hit settlements, including Kivsharivka, Kruhliakivka, and Lozova.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian troops repelled 14 attacks near Hrekivka, Zelenyi Hai, Nadiia, Makiivka, Torske, and Yampilivka.
In the Siversk direction, the enemy conducted no offensive actions but carried out airstrikes on Fedorivka, Kuzmynivka, and Siversk.
In the Kramatorsk direction, two Russian attempts to advance near Chasiv Yar and Orikhovo-Vasylivka failed. Enemy airstrikes hit Druzhkivka.
In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces launched eight assaults near Toretsk, Shcherbynivka, and Nelipivka. Ukrainian defenders held firm, with two clashes still ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy conducted 51 offensive actions throughout the day. The highest activity was recorded near Myroliubivka, Lysivka, Promin, Dachenske, Chumatske, and Shevchenko. Ukrainian defenders bravely held their positions, repelling 46 attacks, with five ongoing battles.
In this direction, Ukrainian soldiers eliminated 139 and wounded 218 Russian forces. Ukrainian troops also destroyed 11 vehicles and damaged an artillery system.
In the Kurakhove direction, 37 clashes were reported by this evening. Supported by aviation, Russian forces attempted to advance near Sontsivka, Stari Terny, Zoria, Dalne, Dachne, and Kurakhove.
In the Vremivka direction, Russian troops conducted 27 assaults toward Kostiantynopolske and Novosilka, as well as near Sukhi Yaly, Storozhуve, Neskuchne, and Blahodatne. Six clashes are still ongoing.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, three enemy assaults failed.
In the Kursk region, Ukrainian forces repelled ten Russian attacks, with one battle still underway. The enemy launched 22 airstrikes on its territory, dropping 36 guided bombs.
"There have been no significant changes in the situation on other fronts," the General Staff added.
Enemy's losses in the war
According to the General Staff, Russia has lost 754,590 military personnel since the start of its full-scale invasion.
Over the past day alone, Ukrainian Defense Forces eliminated an additional 1,220 Russian troops. They also destroyed 18 armored combat vehicles, three artillery systems, and other enemy equipment.
