As of the evening of December 5, 170 combat engagements were recorded in the frontline. Russian forces are attacking most actively in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Enemy shelling

According to the General Staff, Russian forces carried out two missile strikes on Ukraine today, launching four missiles and deploying 599 kamikaze drones.

Additionally, Russian troops conducted over 3,200 attacks targeting Ukrainian military positions and civilian settlements.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv direction, Ukrainian forces repelled one enemy attack near Tykhe. The enemy also conducted an airstrike near Kruhle.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces made five attempts to advance toward Ukrainian positions near Nova Kruhliakivka, Lozova, and Synkivka. All attacks were repelled. Russian forces targeted Petropavlivka and Lozova with unguided rockets.

In the Lyman direction, Russian troops launched 15 assaults near Hrekivka, Tverdokhlibove, Yampolivka, Terny, Zarichne, Torske, Druzheliubivka, Bilohorivka, and within the Serebryansky forest. One assault remains ongoing.

In the Kramatorsk direction, enemy forces initiated five engagements near Chasiv Yar, Stupochky, and Predtechyne.

In the Toretsk direction, one battle continues near the city. Ukrainian forces repelled five assaults in the areas of Toretsk and Nelipivka.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces attempted to breach Ukrainian defenses 37 times. Since the start of the day, Russian troops launched attacks near Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Dachenske, Zhovte, Pushkine, Novotroitske, Shevchenko, and Novopustynka. Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 36 assaults, while one attack remains ongoing.

The enemy suffered significant losses. Preliminary reports indicate that over 450 Russian personnel were neutralized in this direction, including 217 killed. Ukrainian forces destroyed one infantry fighting vehicle, four vehicles, two motorcycles, and an enemy electronic warfare dugout. Additionally, one vehicle and an artillery gun were damaged.

In the Kurakhove direction, Ukrainian troops repelled 47 attacks near Berestky, Stari Terny, Zoria, Sontsivka, Kurakhove, Dalne, Yelyzavetivka, Hannivka, Romanivka, and Uspenivka.

In the Vremivka direction, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled 35 assaults near Kostiantynopolske, Rozlyv, Sukhi Yaly, Makarivka, and Novodarivka. All clashes have concluded. Russian airstrikes targeted Komar and Vremivka.

In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian forces repelled an enemy attack near Novodanilivka.

In the Pryniprovskyi direction, Russian troops launched three assaults on Ukrainian positions but suffered heavy losses.

In the Siversk and Huliaipole directions, no active enemy operations were reported.

Ukrainian Defense Forces continue operations in Russia’s Kursk region. Reports indicate 15 engagements and over 450 shelling incidents targeting settlements and Ukrainian positions.

Russian losses in the war

Since the start of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russia has lost over 748,000 personnel, according to the General Staff.

In the past 24 hours alone, Ukrainian forces eliminated 1,580 Russian troops. Additionally, they destroyed 13 tanks, 22 armored vehicles, 21 artillery systems, and other enemy equipment.
