Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of December 5

There were 106 combat engagements in the frontline since the beginning of the day on December 5. The Russian forces are attacking the Kurakhove direction the most, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In the Kharkiv direction, Russians launched an air strike with a guided bomb near Kruhle.
In the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian troops are repelling three enemy attacks in the direction of Nova Kruhliakivka and Lozova, one attack has already been repelled. Petropavlivka and Lozova were hit by unguided air-to-surface missiles.
In the Lyman direction, the Russian army carried out 12 assault and offensive actions near Hrekivka, Tverdokhlibove, Yampolivka, Terny, Zarichne, Torske and in Serebryanske Forestry. Currently, four firefights are still ongoing.
Ukrainian defenders are repelling an enemy attack in the Kramatorsk direction near Chasiv Yar.
Defense forces repelled one attack near Toretsk in the Toretsk direction.
In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, the Russian forces have made 26 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from their positions near the settlements of Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Dachenske, Zhovte, Pushkine, Novotroitske, Shevchenko, Novopustynka. The defense forces are holding back the onslaught and repelled 18 enemy attacks, 8 clashes are still ongoing. The enemy's losses are being clarified.
In the Kurakhove direction, the Russian army conducted 35 attacks near Berestky, Stari Terny, Zoria, Sontsivka, Kurakhove, Dalne, Yelyzavetivka, Hanivka, Romanivka and Uspenivka. Ten engagements are still ongoing.
Fifteen times Ukrainian defenders repelled enemy attacks in the Vremivka direction near the settlements of Kostiantynopilske, Rozlyv, Sukhi Yaly, Makarivka and Novodarivka, ten of them are still ongoing.
In the Orikhiv direction, the Ukrainian army repelled an enemy attack in the direction of Novodanilivka.
In the Siversk, Huliaipillia and Prydniprovskyi directions, the enemy did not conduct any active operations at this time of day.

Russia's losses in the war
According to the General Staff, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russia has lost more than 748,000 personnel.
In particular, over the past day, the Defense Forces eliminated another 1,580 soldiers. Also, 13 tanks, 22 armored combat vehicles, 21 artillery systems and other enemy equipment were destroyed.
