Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of November 12
Since the beginning of today, November 12, 156 battles have already been recorded at the frontlines in Ukraine. Intense fighting persists in the Pokrovsk direction, where enemy losses for the day reached 445 personnel, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Enemy shelling
Since the beginning of the day, Russian forces launched one missile strike using two rockets and 69 airstrikes on Ukrainian territory. Additionally, they dropped 106 guided bombs and deployed 873 kamikaze drones for attacks.
Russian troops also conducted 4,178 artillery strikes on the Ukrainian Defense Forces' positions and in populated areas.
Frontline situation
The General Staff reported that Ukrainian forces continue to decisively repel enemy attempts to advance deeper into Ukrainian territory, inflicting effective fire damage and depleting enemy forces along the entire front and rear areas.
In the Kharkiv direction, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions near Vovchansk eight times.
Preliminary estimates suggest Russia's losses in this area reached 85 personnel killed and wounded. Ukrainian defenders also destroyed seven enemy vehicles and 23 drones while damaging 12 vehicles and one piece of special equipment.
In the Kupiansk direction, Russian troops conducted 17 assaults on Ukrainian positions near Kolisnykivka, Zahryzove, Kruhliakivka, and Lozova.
In the Lyman direction, Russian forces attempted to advance six times in Novomykhailivka, Hrekivka, and Torske. The General Staff noted that Ukrainian troops were holding their ground, inflicting significant losses on the enemy.
In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces are repelling attacks near Verkhniokamianske. The military command emphasized that the situation was under control.
In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces launched ten air-supported assaults near Toretsk and Shcherbynivka, with two combat engagements ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, battle counts have reached 28. The enemy continues pressing Ukrainian positions near Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Hryhorivka, Pustynka, and Novooleksiivka. Ukrainian forces have repelled 19 attacks, with nine ongoing engagements.
"Preliminary enemy losses today amounted to 445 personnel, killed and wounded. Additionally, two tanks, two guns, three vehicles, and three motorcycles were destroyed, while two more vehicles and four motorcycles were damaged," reported the General Staff.
In the Kurakhove direction, 47 engagements of varying intensity have been recorded. The General Staff noted that Russian forces are pushing most actively near Illinka, Novoselydivka, Voznesenka, Novodmytrivka, Dalne, and Antonivka. Fighting is ongoing.
In the Vremivka direction, Russian forces, backed by air support, launched 13 assaults on the frontline in the areas of Trudove, Maksymivka, Makarivka, Rivnopil, and Novodarivka, with six clashes still ongoing.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Russian forces made five unsuccessful attempts to assault Ukrainian positions.
As a reminder, on the evening of November 11, 185 combat engagements were recorded at the frontline. According to the General Staff, nearly half of the attacks occurred in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions.
On the morning of November 12, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that Russian forces had lost 1,950 soldiers over the past day. Additionally, Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed 23 tanks, 38 artillery systems, and 81 armored combat vehicles.
