Since the start of the day, as of 10:00 p.m. Kyiv time on November 9, 153 combat engagements have occurred along the front line. Ukrainian defense forces are focusing on depleting the adversary's combat potential, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In the evening report, it was stated that today the enemy launched one missile strike (one missile), 56 airstrikes (77 guided aerial bombs), and 675 kamikaze drone attacks, as well as over 3,900 artillery strikes on Ukrainian military positions.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv direction, Russian forces launched two unsuccessful assaults on Ukrainian positions near Vovchansk.

"Today, the enemy lost 65 personnel, either killed or wounded, on this front alone," reported the General Staff. "Our forces also destroyed an armored fighting vehicle, an artillery system, 20 drones, eight vehicles, and three pieces of special equipment, and significantly damaged three artillery systems, seven vehicles, and one piece of special equipment."

In the Kupiansk direction, enemy forces attacked Ukrainian fortifications eight times near Kucherivka, Kruhliaivka, and Lozove, with five combat engagements ongoing.

Ukrainian troops are currently repelling an assault near Hrekivka in the Lyman direction. Fourteen enemy assault attempts were thwarted throughout the day near Hrekivka, Nevske, Torske, and Bilohorivka.

In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian units repelled an assault near Verkhnokamianske.

In the Kramatorsk direction, two attempts by enemy forces to advance near Bila Hora and Stupochky failed.

In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces launched nine assaults today around Toretsk, Diliivka, Shcherbynivka, and Nelipivka. Fighting continues in four locations as enemy forces press forward, attempting to advance in the Toretsk area.

The enemy has been aggressively attacking Ukrainian defenders in the Pokrovsk direction, conducting a total of 36 assault and offensive operations throughout the day. Russian forces remain highly active around Promin, Lysivka, and Hryhorivka, with three combat engagements ongoing.

"According to preliminary estimates, our forces have eliminated 180 enemy personnel and wounded 210 on this front today," the statement said. "Three tanks, ten armored fighting vehicles, 19 vehicles, and four mortars were destroyed, along with an additional nine vehicles and one artillery system."

In the Kurakhove direction, the enemy remains highly active, with 40 combat engagements recorded at this time. Enemy forces attempted advances near Illinka, Novoselydivka, Novodmytrivka, Maksymilianivka, Dalne, Katerynivka, and Antonivka, with fighting still ongoing.

In the Vremivka direction, Ukrainian forces repelled five enemy attacks in the areas of Bohoiavlenka, Trudove, and Maksymivka.

In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian forces repelled an enemy assault toward Novoandriivka.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, three enemy offensives failed.

In the Kursk region, Ukrainian fighters are holding the line, repelling four enemy attacks. In total, the adversary has attempted 18 attacks against our units today.

In other directions, the situation has remained largely unchanged.

"Today, we recognize the soldiers of the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade from Zakarpattia and the 68th Separate Jager Brigade named after Oleksa Dovbush, who are steadfastly holding back the onslaught of superior enemy forces on the eastern front," the General Staff noted.

On November 8, 171 battles were recorded along the front, with the heaviest fighting taking place in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions.
