Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of November 4
Since the beginning of the day on November 4, there have been 132 combat clashes at the front. The enemy has been most active in the Kurakhove and Lyman directions, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian shelling
According to the General Staff, the Sumy and Kharkiv regions continue to suffer from artillery shelling from Russian territory.
The enemy's fire has affected areas near the border, including Pavlivka, Oleksandrivka, Vidrodzhennivske, Rohizne, Zhuravka, and Znob-Trubchevsk.
Situation in the directions
In the Kharkiv direction, four enemy attacks are currently underway in the area of Vovchansk. Two more attacks have already been repelled.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy has attempted to assault Ukrainian positions nine times near Kindrashivka, Kucheriivka, Petropavlivka, Kolisnykivka, Zahryzove, Vyshneve, Lozova, and Kruhliakivka, three of which are still ongoing.
In the Lyman direction, the Russian army launched 18 attacks on Ukrainian positions toward Cherneshchyna, Hrekivka, Makiivka, Terny, Zarichne, and Torske throughout the day. Five clashes have concluded, while 13 are still in progress.
In the Siversk direction, the Russian forces attempted to attack Ukrainian positions near Bilohorivka once but were unsuccessful.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the Russian army attacked five times in the areas of Chasiv Yar and Stupochky. Two clashes are still ongoing.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy, supported by aviation, made five attempts to improve their position near Dachne, Toretsk, and Shcherbynivka. Ukrainian soldiers gave a strong response. The Russian army dropped two aerial bombs in the Diliivka area.
Since the beginning of the day, the Russian forces have made eleven attempts to dislodge Ukrainian defenders from their positions in the Pokrovsk direction, with fighting ongoing near Promin, Lysivkka, Selydove, Yuriivka, and Vyshneve. Kalynove has been struck by guided aerial bombs and rockets.
The situation is currently hottest in the Kurakhiv direction, where 51 enemy attacks have been recorded in the areas of Vovchenka, Illinka, Kreminna Balka, Novoselydivka, Novodmytrivka, Hostre, Maksymivka, Antonivka, Dalne, Katerynivka, and Yelyzavetivka. The Russian forces are focusing their main efforts in the Kreminna Balka area, conducting 19 assaults, nine of which are ongoing.
In the Vremivka direction, two clashes are ongoing near Trudove, and three attacks have already been repelled by Ukrainian defenders today.
In the Orikhiv direction, the Russian forces attacked five times toward Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Stepove, and Orikhiv. The enemy dropped five guided aerial bombs on Tavriiske and in the area of Mala Tokmachka.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, one enemy assault has been successfully repelled, while the enemy carried out an airstrike using missiles on Mykolaivka.
"There are no significant changes in other directions," the General Staff added.
Situation at the front and Russian losses
According to the General Staff, there were 169 combat clashes at the front on November 3, indicating a high level of activity across various directions. The most intense fighting occurred in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhiv directions.
In the last 24 hours, Russian forces lost 1,300 soldiers. Overall, Russian losses since the beginning of the full-scale war have exceeded 700,000 military personnel.
