Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of November 1
Since the beginning of November 1, 126 combat clashes have erupted along the frontline, with Russian forces concentrating their heaviest assaults on two directions in the Donetsk region, according to the evening briefing from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Enemy shelling
The enemy launched three missile strikes (five missiles), conducted 52 airstrikes (including the deployment of 73 guided aerial bombs), and carried out 400 kamikaze drone attacks. Additionally, the Russian army shelled Ukrainian positions 2,926 times.
Frontline situation
In the Kharkiv direction, a single combat encounter is ongoing near Vovchansk. The enemy has been actively employing aviation, carrying out five airstrikes and deploying 11 guided aerial bombs in the areas of Derhachi, Riznykove, Hoptivka, and Vilkhuvatka. Additionally, four unguided rockets were launched near Bochkovе.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy attacked the Defense Forces' positions five times. Four clashes around Petropavlivka, Lozova, Kruhliakivka, and Zahryzove have concluded, while one more assault is underway.
In the Lyman direction, Russian forces attempted 14 assaults on Ukrainian defensive positions throughout the day near Druzhelyubivka, Katerynivka, Hrekivka, Makiivka, Terni, and the Serebrianske Forestry. All attacks were successfully repelled.
In the Kramatorsk direction, three enemy attempts to advance near Stupochky failed.
In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces launched three assaults today in the areas of Toretsk and Shcherbynivka. Enemy bombers were actively operating near Toretsk, Kostiantynivka, and Petrivka, with combat ongoing at one location.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy conducted 36 assault and offensive actions throughout the day. Russian forces showed the highest activity in the areas of Sukha Balka, Sukhyi Yar, Myroliubivka, Mykolaivka, Lysivka, Krutyi Yar, Novohrodivka, and Selydove. Seven clashes are still underway. The enemy used aerial strikes on Myroliubivka, Oleksandropil, and Stara Mykolaivka.
Preliminary estimates indicate that our forces have eliminated 115 and wounded 192 enemy troops today, destroying two armored combat vehicles, one tank, one vehicle, and one buggy.
In the Kurakhove direction, there have been 48 combat engagements so far today. Ukrainian forces repelled enemy attacks in the areas of Ostrivske, Ilyinka, Novoselydivka, Kreminna Balka, Novodmytrivka, Vovchenka, Maksymilianivka, Dalne, Antonivka, and Katerynivka. Russian forces dropped guided bombs near Kurakhove and Dalne.
In the Vremivka direction, the enemy attempted twice to breach defenses near Trudove but was blocked by our determined defenders.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the operational situation remains largely unchanged, with the enemy’s four assault attempts proving unsuccessful.
No significant changes have been observed in other directions.
Air attacks
On the evening of Friday, November 1, Russian forces struck the National Police building in central Kharkiv. The attack left one police officer dead and injured 26 others.
In Sumy, a Russian drone hit a nine-story residential building, injuring five people.
Meanwhile, the Pentagon has stated that Ukraine has sufficient military resources to sustain the war effort for another six months to a year.
