Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of October 31
150 combat engagements occurred from the beginning of November 31 until the evening from the frontlines in Ukraine. The highest number of battles took place in the Kurakhove, Pokrovsk, and Lyman directions, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Russian shelling
Russian forces launched two missile strikes throughout the day, employing four missiles for these attacks.
Additionally, Russians conducted 35 airstrikes using 62 guided aerial bombs, carried out 490 kamikaze drone strikes, and executed nearly 2,600 shellings of Ukrainian forces' positions and populated areas with various types of weaponry.
Frontline situation
In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy launched three attacks near Vovchansk and Vovchanski Khutory.
In this direction, enemy losses for the day totaled 114 military personnel killed and wounded, according to the General Staff. Furthermore, one armored fighting vehicle, 25 drones, six automotive equipment units, and four special transport units were destroyed.
"Our defenders also significantly damaged one armored fighting vehicle, an artillery system, and three vehicles," the report states.
In the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 15 enemy attacks. Russian forces displayed activity in the areas of Petropavlivka, Kolisnykivka, Zahryzove, Lozova, Berestove, and Vyshneve.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked 21 times, attempting to advance towards Katerynivka, Stepove, Hrekivka, Terny, and the Serebryansky forest.
In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces attempted to breach the defenses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces three times. Throughout the day, the enemy attacked the area of Toretsk, where fighting is currently ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled 23 offensive and assault actions by Russian forces in the areas of Promin, Lysivka, and Vyshneve, with two ongoing battles.
"Our troops are taking measures to hold designated lines and are giving a strong response," the General Staff noted.
Preliminary reports indicate that over the day, the enemy lost 320 personnel killed and wounded, and Ukrainian forces destroyed two artillery systems, five armored fighting vehicles, a drone control point, a motorcycle, and two vehicles belonging to the enemy.
"Additionally, an enemy tank, artillery system, and armored fighting vehicle were significantly damaged," the General Staff reported.
In the Kurakhove direction, 56 combat engagements occurred. Russian forces remain active, attempting to advance in the areas of Novoselydivka, Kreminna Balka, Novodmytrivka, Ostrivske, Maksymilianivka, Antonivka, and Yelyzavetivka, according to the report. Fighting continues in 16 locations.
In the Vremivka direction, Russian forces attacked five times near Bohoyavlenka and Trudove.
In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian forces halted two enemy attacks in the direction of Novodanylivka.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, there were no significant changes, and the positions and territories were maintained. The General Staff added that Ukrainian forces repelled three enemy assaults.
Earlier, the General Staff reported that on the previous day, October 30, there were 145 combat engagements at the front. The Defense Forces of Ukraine specified that the highest number of battles was recorded in the Kurakhove direction.
It was also reported that from October 30 to 31, the Russian army lost 1,310 soldiers at the front in Ukraine.
