Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of October 30

As of 10:00 p.m. on October 30 (Kyiv time), 134 combat engagements had occurred in the frontline since the beginning of the day. The hottest situations remained in the Kurakhove and Pokrovsk directions, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian shelling
Today, Russian forces launched one missile strike and 58 air strikes against Ukrainian territory (including one missile and 68 guided aerial bombs), employing 663 kamikaze drones for attacks. Additionally, the enemy conducted over 3,800 shellings of Ukrainian troops' positions and populated areas.
Frontline situation
In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy attacked once near Vovchansk. Russian forces actively used aviation in this area, with bombing reported in the regions of the settlements of Mali Prokhody, Kudiivka, and Kozacha Lopan.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy attempted to advance toward Ukrainian positions 20 times throughout the day near Synkivka, Novoosynove, Kolisnykivka, Pershotravneve, Pishchane, Kruhliakivka, Zelenyi Hai, Vyshneve, Bohuslavka, Petropavlivka, Lozova, and Zahryzove. Two clashes are ongoing.
In the Lyman direction, Russian forces attacked 11 times in the areas of Katerynivka, Hrekivka, Terny, Zarichne, Druzheliubivka, and the Serebryansky forest. One clash continues while Ukrainian forces have repelled the rest.
In the Siversk direction, the enemy attempted to breach Ukrainian defenses twice during the day in the settlements of Verkhniokamianske and Bilohorivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, enemy activity resulted in one clash near Chasiv Yar.
In the Toretsk direction, no attacks occurred. However, the enemy struck the settlement of Druzhba with unguided missiles.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy attempted to infiltrate Ukrainian defenses 26 times. Since the start of the day, Russian forces received strong resistance 22 times in the areas of the settlements of Myroliubivka, Promin, Myrnohrad, Lysivka, Sukhyi Yar, Novohrodivka, Vyshneve, Krutyi Yar, and Selydove. Four attacks are still ongoing.
"The enemy suffers significant losses; preliminary information indicates our forces neutralized over 220 Russian forces in this direction today, with 115 of them permanently eliminated. Two tanks, one artillery system, two vehicles, and one enemy drone were destroyed, and one vehicle, two armored combat vehicles, and one artillery system were damaged," the report states.
In the Kurakhove direction, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions near Novoselydivka, Novodmytrivka, Illinka, Maksymilianivka, Hostra, Yelyzavetivka, Dalne, Antonivka, Kurakhivka, Kreminna Balka, Voznesensk, and Katerynivka. Currently, Ukrainian forces have repelled 26 attacks, with 13 clashes ongoing.
In the Vremivka direction, Ukrainian troops repelled attacks near Bohoyavlenka, Maksymivka, and Novoukrainka — five attacks were repelled, with one still ongoing.
In the Huliaipole direction, the enemy made one unsuccessful attempt to displace Ukrainian defenders from their positions near the settlement of Charivne. The situation remains controlled.
In the Orikhiv direction, Russian forces struck the settlements of Mala Tokmachka and Preobrazhenka with airstrikes, utilizing 14 aerial bombs.
Ukrainian defense forces continue operations in the Kursk region, launching 19 strikes with 20 Russian-guided aerial bombs across its territory.
"Today, we must acknowledge the effective and professional combat work of the 141st Separate Infantry Brigade and the 126th Separate Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces, which inflict significant losses on the enemy in personnel and equipment," the General Staff summarized.
As a reminder, Russia's losses in the war against Ukraine from October 29 to 30 amounted to 1,560 personnel. In addition, Ukrainian troops destroyed 40 drones and 91 vehicles.
