Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of October 28

On the frontlines, there were 134 combat engagements reported on Monday, October 28. The situation remains tense in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions, where the enemy is concentrating its main offensive efforts, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Enemy shelling
According to the General Staff, today Russian forces conducted 70 airstrikes, dropping 119 guided aerial bombs.
Additionally, the Russian army employed 685 kamikaze drones and carried out approximately 3,800 shellings targeting Ukrainian military positions and civilian settlements.
Frontline situation
In the Kharkiv direction, Russian forces attempted to storm the positions of Ukrainian units near Vovchansk four times.
As a result, the Russian army suffered 92 casualties, including killed and wounded personnel and lost one armored combat vehicle, four cars, 18 drones, and three units of special equipment. Our defenders also damaged an artillery system, five vehicles, and four units of Russian specialized equipment.
The enemy attacked our positions in the Kupiansk direction thirteen times. Near the settlements of Kolysnykivka, Synkivka, Kruhlyakivka, Pershotravneve, and Lozova, the Defense Forces successfully repelled all enemy assaults.
In the Lyman direction, Russian forces launched 15 attacks on Ukrainian defenders today in the areas of Hrekivka, Zarichne, Terni, and Torske.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian troops successfully repelled two attempts by the invaders to advance in the areas of Chasiv Yar and Stupochky.
In the Toretsk direction, our forces fended off one enemy attack.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the Russian army attacked our positions 31 times today. In the areas of Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Krutyi Yar, Selydove, and Vyshneve, our defenders successfully repelled all assaults by the Russian forces.
The losses of the Russian army in this direction today amount to 151 personnel killed and wounded, along with the destruction of two mortars, one armored combat vehicle, one tank, a drone control point, and a vehicle. Additionally, one tank, three mortars, and one armored combat vehicle were damaged.
The fiercest fighting today is occurring in the Kurakhove direction, where the Russian forces have made 48 attempts to advance by this time of day. The battles are mainly concentrated near Zoriane, Maksymilianivka, Novodmytrivka, Katerynivka, and Antonivka.
In the Vremivka direction today, the Russian army, supported by aviation, launched 12 assaults on the front line of our defenses in the areas of Bohoyavlenka and Novoukrainka.
In the Prydniprovkyio direction, the enemy made two unsuccessful attempts to storm the positions of Ukrainian units.
Additionally, the Defense Forces of Ukraine continue operations in the Kursk direction. The enemy's aviation carried out 28 airstrikes on the Kursk region today, employing 39 guided aerial bombs.
Frontline situation and Russia's losses
According to preliminary data from the General Staff, Russian forces are actively engaged in the Pokrovsk, Kurakhove, Lyman, Kupiansk, and Vremivka directions.
Since the onset of the full-scale war, Russia has lost over 690,000 personnel. In just the past day, the Defense Forces eliminated another 1,680 Russian soldiers, along with dozens of enemy military equipment units.
