Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of October 27

Since the beginning of the day, as of 16:00 on October 27, 84 combat engagements have taken place at the front. Despite significant losses, the enemy continues to try to break through the defense of Ukrainian troops, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Enemy shelling
The General Staff noted that today the following localities suffered from enemy artillery shelling from the territory of Russia:
- Khrinivka, Bleshnya, Vorobyivka in Chernihiv region;
- Korenok, Basivka, Novenke, Obody, Oleksandrivka, Boyaro-Lezhachi, Velyka Berizka, Starykove, Lisne, Stepanivka, Chernatske in Sumy region.
In addition, the enemy conducted air strikes on the areas of Stepne, Bilovody, Basivka, and Yunakivka in the Sumy region, dropping a total of 12 aircraft bombs.
The enemy struck at its own territory. Thus, according to available information, today the Russians carried out 15 air strikes on the Kursk region, using 18 air bombs.
Situation at the frontlines
Today, in the Kharkiv direction, Russians stormed the defensive lines of Ukrainian troops twice near Vovchansk, and our defenders repelled the Russian attacks.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy actively attacked the positions of our units 13 times in the areas of Kindrashivka, Synkivka, Kolisnykivka, Kruhliakivka, Lozova, Zahryzove, Pershotravneve and Vyshneve. Ukrainian troops are holding steadfastly, six firefights are still ongoing. The situation is under control.
Today in the Lyman direction, the invading army launched nine attacks on Ukrainian positions near Cherneshchyna, Novomykhailivka, Makiivka, Terny, Zarichne, Serebryanka, and Hryhorivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the invaders carried out two assault operations with the support of army aviation near Orikhovo-Vasylivka.
In the Toretsk direction, the Russians tried to force our units out of their positions near Shcherbynivka and Niu York, where the Defense Forces repelled four attacks. The occupants are actively using aviation in this area, in particular, the areas of Oleksandro-Kalynove and Romanivka are being bombed.
Since the beginning of the day in the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy has already made 15 attempts to push our defenders from their positions in the areas of Myroliubivka, Promin, Krutyi Yar, and Selydove. The defense forces are holding back the onslaught and have so far repelled ten enemy attacks. The enemy's losses are being clarified.
Fighting continues near Novoselydivka, Novodmytrivka, Kurakhivka, Maksymilianivka, Antonivka, Kurakhove, and Katerynivka in the Kurakhove direction. According to the updated information, 19 attacks of the enemy army have been repelled so far, two attacks are ongoing.
In the Vremivka direction, an attack in the area of Novoukrainka continues, and the enemy dropped four guided aerial bombs in the area of Velyka Novosilka.
In the Huliaipole and Orikhiv directions, the enemy actively used aviation, for example, in the area of Mala Tokmachka, the enemy dropped 12 guided bombs and struck Bilohirya twice with 40 unguided aerial missiles.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the enemy tried to drive Ukrainian troops from their positions three times without success.
Over the past 24 hours, as of the morning of October 27, Russian troops lost 1440 soldiers at the front. In addition, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed 39 artillery systems and 100 units of enemy vehicles.
