Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of October 15

The situation along the entire frontline remains difficult. Since the beginning of the day, 96 combat clashes have already taken place, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The heaviest fighting has been recorded in the Kurakhove direction.
In particular, today, the communities of Obody and Basivka in the Sumy region suffered from enemy artillery and mortar fire. Additionally, Russian forces launched airstrikes with guided aerial bombs in the areas of Tovstodubove, Svarkove, and Yunakivka.
Situation on the frontlines
In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy unsuccessfully assaulted the positions of Ukrainian units near Vovchansk and Starytsia.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy attacked positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces 18 times near Kucherivka, Novoosynove, Hrushivka, Pishchane, Hlushkivka, Lozova, Kruhliakivka, and Vyshneve. Eleven clashes are still ongoing. Ukrainian soldiers continue to hold the line.
With the support of assault aviation, the Russian army launched 13 attacks on Ukrainian positions near Hrekivka, Makiivka, Nevske, Zarichne, and Torske. Nine clashes have ended, while four are ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Defense Forces repelled two attacks from the Russian army near Kalynivka and Predtechyne.
In the Toretsk direction, there were seven enemy attacks in the area of Toretsk, Dachne, and Shcherbynivka. Ukrainian soldiers stopped all of them. The Russian army is primarily concentrating its efforts on Toretsk, actively using bombers.
In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, the Russian forces made 14 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from their positions in the areas of Novotroitske, Myrolubivka, Promin, Krasnyi Yar, Selydove, and Krutyi Yar. The Defense Forces are holding back the pressure and have repelled 11 enemy attacks, with three clashes still ongoing. Meanwhile, enemy aviation bombed the settlement of Sukha Balka, dropping three guided bombs.
In the Kurakhove direction, the Russian forces attacked 30 times towards Kreminna Balka, Novodmytrivka, Tsukuryne, Novoselydivka, Heorhiivka, Kostiantynivka, Antonivka, and Katerynivka. Sixteen attempts by the enemy to advance have already been repelled.
In the Vremivka direction, one clash occurred near Rozdolne.
In the Orikhiv direction, the Russian forces attacked in vain near Mala Tokmachka.
The enemy assaulted Ukranian defenders' positions once in the Prydniprovskyi direction.
Operations are ongoing in the Kursk region. Enemy aviation continues to strike with guided aerial bombs on its own territory. Currently, there are five known air strikes involving eight guided bombs.
Russian losses in the war
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that since the beginning of the full-scale war, Russia has lost 671,400 personnel. Specifically, in the past day, the Defense Forces eliminated another 1,210 soldiers and destroyed:
- 13 tanks;
- 44 armored combat vehicles;
- 9 artillery systems, among others.
