On the last day, 172 combat engagements were registered in the frontline. The situation was the most intense in the Kurakhove and Pokrovsk sectors, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Russia launched one missile strike and carried out 82 air strikes, dropped 137 guided aerial bombs, and also carried out 3460 artillery attacks, of which 70 were from multiple launch rocket systems. In addition, 1,190 kamikaze drones were used in the attacks.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces responded by striking at 5 areas where Russian personnel and military equipment were concentrated and destroyed one air defense system and the Russian command post.

Russia conducted 4 attacks in the Kharkiv sector and 18 attacks in the Kupiansk sector. The Russian occupiers suffered losses and failed to break through the Ukrainian defense. There were 19 Russian attacks in the Lyman sector, 2 in the Siversk sector, and 4 in the Kramatorsk sector.

The Pokrovsk sector saw 37 attacks, with the highest concentration near Selydove and Lysivka. Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 40 attacks in the Kurakhove sector.

Active operations are also underway in the Kursk region, where Russian aviation continues to carry out air strikes on its territory.

Russian losses

Over the past 24 hours, from October 8 to 9, Russian troops suffered losses at the front: 1,150 soldiers, 11 armored combat vehicles, and 55 vehicles were destroyed.
