On October 4, there were 159 combat engagements at the front. In this context, the number of Russian attacks in the Kupiansk direction exceeded those in the Pokrovsk direction, according to the summary from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"Hot" directions

"In the Kupiansk direction, the number of attacks over the day increased to 22. The Defence Forces repelled the enemy's assault actions near Synkivka, Novoselivka, Pishchane, Stelmakhivka, and Lozova," the report states.

In the Kurakhove direction, the Defence Forces halted enemy attacks near Tsukuryne, Hoshche, Heorhiivka, Antonivka, Kostiantynivka, and in the direction of Bohoiavlenka, where the enemy attempted to break through the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ defenses 28 times.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 15 assaults and attacks in the areas of Mykolaivka, Selydove, and Lysivka, where the invaders, supported by aviation, attempted to push the Ukrainian Armed Forces units from their positions.

Situation on other sections of the front

In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy continued offensive and assault actions. Four combat engagements occurred in the areas of Starytsia, Vovchansk, and Tykhe.

In the Lyman direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces halted 15 attacks by the occupiers near Nevske, Hrekivka, Makiivka, Novosadove, and Torske.

In the Siversk direction, the Defence Forces of Ukraine repelled three assault actions. The enemy attempted to advance near Verkhniokamianske and Vyimka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian soldiers stopped nine attempts by the enemy to break through the defense. The occupiers, with air support, concentrated their efforts in the areas of Chasiv Yar, Kalynivka, Stupochky, and Andriivka.

The invaders continued to actively operate in the Toretsk direction. In total, the enemy launched 14 attacks on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the areas of Toretsk and Shcherbynivka, delivering airstrikes with guided aerial bombs.

In the Orikhiv direction, four combat engagements occurred in the areas of Robotyne, Mali Shcherbaky, and Kamianske.

In the Volyn and Polissya directions, the operational situation remains unchanged. No signs of enemy offensive group formations have been detected.

The Defence Forces of Ukraine continue operations in the Kursk region.

Along the border with Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the occupiers maintain a military presence, shelling settlements from Russian territory and conducting sabotage and reconnaissance activities against Ukraine.

Losses of the Russian Federation in Ukraine

On October 4, the losses of the Russian Federation amounted to 1,280 military personnel. The Ukrainian Armed Forces also neutralized eight tanks, 31 armored combat vehicles, 72 artillery systems, four multiple launch rocket systems, five air defense systems, 35 operational-tactical level drones, 85 vehicles, and 11 units of special equipment.

Additionally, aviation, missile troops, and artillery of the Defence Forces struck eight areas where personnel, weapons, and military equipment were concentrated, an air defense system, one artillery unit in a firing position, three command points, one UAV command point, and one radar station of the invaders.
