Since the start of the day on October 4, there have been 97 clashes on the frontlines. The most intense fighting is currently reported in the Kurakhove direction, though Russian forces remain active in the Pokrovsk, Kupiansk, and Lyman directions, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The military command updated the operational situation at the front as of 10:00 p.m. on Friday, October 4.

Russian shelling

Since the beginning of the day, Russian forces have launched 61 airstrikes on Ukrainian territory, dropping 101 guided bombs.

Additionally, the enemy deployed 630 kamikaze drones and carried out over 3,000 shelling attacks on Ukrainian Defense Forces' positions and populated areas.

Frontline situation

The General Staff reported that Ukrainian defenders continued to fiercely repel Russian attempts to advance deeper into Ukrainian territory, inflicting heavy fire damage on the enemy.

In the Kharkiv direction, there were four enemy attacks. Ukrainian forces successfully repelled Russian advances near Starytsia, Vovchansk, and Tykhe.

"Enemy losses in this direction are estimated at 63 soldiers killed and wounded, with one artillery system, 28 drones, and six vehicles destroyed. Additionally, our defenders damaged 14 artillery systems and five vehicles," the General Staff stated.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces launched attacks near Synkivka, Novoselivka, Pishchane, Stelmakhivka, and Lozova. Fourteen battles have concluded, while two more enemy attacks are ongoing.

In the Lyman direction, Russian forces assaulted Ukrainian positions near Nevske, Hrekivka, Makiivka, Novosadove, and Torske. Ten battles have concluded, while three are ongoing.

In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled three enemy assaults near Verkhniokamianske and Vyimka. The General Staff reported that combat continues, but the situation remains controlled.

In the Kramatorsk direction, six battles were fought near Kalynivka, Stupochky, and Andriivka, with one enemy attack underway.

In the Toretsk direction, 11 battles took place, as Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions near Toretsk and Shcherbynivka. Six battles have ended, while five are ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy launched 14 attacks near Mykolaivka, Selydove, and Lysivka. Ukrainian forces repelled 13 offensive actions, with one battle still in progress.

In the Kurakhove direction, Russian forces carried out 25 offensive actions near Tsukuryne, Hostre, Heorhiivka, Antonivka, Kostiantynivka, and towards Bohoyavlenka. Ukrainian Defense Forces halted 14 of these attacks, while 10 battles are still ongoing.

In the Orikhiv direction, Russian troops made four unsuccessful attempts to advance on Ukrainian positions near Robotyne, Mali Shcherbaky, and Kamianske.

The General Staff also noted that there have been no significant changes in other directions.

"Ukrainian Defense Forces continue operations in the Kursk direction," the military command added.

Yesterday, the Center for Countering Disinformation reported that Ukrainian forces halted a Russian advance near Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region. Additionally, Ukrainian soldiers thwarted an enemy attempt to break through to Lyubymivka in the Kursk region.

The previous day saw a higher number of clashes on the front compared to the current situation. The General Staff reported that as of the evening of October 3, there had been 132 battles throughout the day.
