Since the start of October 3, 132 combat engagements have occurred on the frontlines, with Russian forces concentrating their offensive efforts in the Pokrovsk, Kurakhove, and Lyman directions, according to the evening report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Enemy shelling

In the past 24 hours, Russia launched three missile strikes, 48 airstrikes, and dropped 97 guided aerial bombs. Additionally, Russian troops deployed 788 kamikaze drones and shelled Ukrainian military positions and civilian areas more than 3,000 times.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv direction, Russian troops launched three unsuccessful assaults on Ukrainian positions near Vovchansk and Starytsia while dropping ten air bombs on Cherkaska Lozova, Starytsia, and Bochkove.

Russia is suffering significant losses. Today, 110 Russian troops have been killed or wounded in this area, with one tank, seven artillery systems, four multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), 11 vehicles, 33 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and four pieces of specialized equipment destroyed.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian troops attacked Ukrainian positions 11 times. Ukrainian forces repelled nine assaults near Synkivka, Kurylivka, Pishchane, and Pershotravneve. Fighting continues near Vyshneve and Petropavlivka.

In the Lyman direction, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian defenders 13 times near the settlements of Makiivka, Novosadove, Torske, Druzheliubivka, Hrekivka, and Dronivka.

In the Siversk direction, Russian troops launched one assault, attempting to push Ukrainian defenders from positions near Spirne. After receiving a strong counterattack, the Russians retreated.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled six attempts by Russian troops to advance. Russia concentrated efforts near Andriivka, Bila Hora, and Stupochky. Additionally, Russian bombers targeted Chasiv Yar.

In the Toretsk direction, Torske, Dachne, and Nelipivka were attacked nine times. Furthermore, Russian airstrikes hit the areas around Katerynivka, Druzhba, and Kleban-Byk.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian troops concentrated their primary efforts. Throughout the day, Russia launched 28 attacks on Ukrainian positions in the areas of Sukha Balka, Hirnyk, Promin, Novotoretske, and Krutyi Yar.

Preliminary estimates indicate that on October 3, Russian forces in the Pokrovsk direction suffered 288 casualties, either killed or wounded. Ukrainian defenders destroyed one tank, two armored fighting vehicles, seven vehicles, two BM-21 Grad MLRS, one reconnaissance drone, and one artillery system. Ukrainian forces also significantly damaged two artillery systems, two vehicles, five armored vehicles, and one tank.

In the Kurakhove direction, 23 Russian attacks were recorded in the past day, two of which are ongoing. Fighting primarily occurred near Novooleksandrivka, Tsukuryne, Heorhiivka, Kostiantynivka, Trudove, Vozdvyzhenka, Antonivka, and Katerynivka.

In the Vremivka direction, Russia launched four assaults on the forward positions of Ukrainian defense near Maksymivka and Bohoyavlenka.

In the Orikhiv direction, two Russian attacks were halted near Kamianske and Novodanylivka.

Meanwhile, in Russia's Kursk region, Russian aviation continues to strike its territory with guided bombs. Russian troops conducted six airstrikes in the past 24 hours, using 13 guided bombs.

Enemy shelling of Ukraine

In recent weeks, Russia has significantly increased the scale and frequency of missile and drone strikes on Ukrainian territory.

On the evening of October 3, Russians launched a Geran-2 drone attack on the Sumy community, injuring civilians.

Last night, drones struck an airfield in Russia’s Voronezh region, where Russian stockpiles of guided bombs, as well as Su-35 and Su-34 aircraft, are stationed.

The attack was organized by the Security Service of Ukraine. Satellite images of the damage to the enemy airfield have been released online.
