Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of September 29

Since the start of the day, as of 4:00 PM, there have been 68 combat clashes at the front. Nearly half of these occurred in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhiv directions, where the enemy is actively attacking, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Enemy shelling
Today, around 20 populated areas in the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions were affected by artillery and mortar shelling. Additionally, the Russians conducted airstrikes with guided bombs on Kucherivka, Shalyhyne, Obody, Esman, Studenky, and Reviakyne.
Situation at the fronts
In the Kharkiv direction, there was one clash. The enemy assaulted the defensive positions of our units near Vovchansk. The invaders also carried out two airstrikes on Vovchansk and Muravske.
In the Kupiansk direction, six battles have occurred since the beginning of the day. The enemy conducted offensive actions near Vyshneve, Kucherivka, Kruhliakivka, and Lozova. Currently, two attacks by the occupiers are ongoing.
In the Lyman direction, seven combat clashes took place. The enemy attacked near Makiivka, Zarichne, Bilohorivka, and Nevske, where fighting is still ongoing. Additionally, the invaders launched six artillery rounds in the Novorehorivka area.
In the Kramatorsk direction, there were four clashes. Russian forces attempted to storm our positions near Chasiv Yar and Bila Hora, where one attack is still ongoing. Furthermore, the invaders fired 18 artillery rounds at Chasiv Yar.
In the Toretsk direction, the Russians tried to push our units from their positions near Shcherbynivka, Toretsk, and Nelipivka. Half of the clashes have concluded, while three are ongoing. The aggressor's aviation dropped guided bombs near Katerynivka and Toretsk, and launched 24 artillery rounds at Druzhba.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy conducted 13 assaults in the areas of Vozdvyzhenka, Myroliubivka, Novotoretske, Mykolaivka, Lysivka, and Selydove. The Ukrainian defense forces are holding back the pressure from Russian troops and repelled 11 attacks, while two battles are ongoing. The enemy's losses in this direction are being assessed.
In the Kurakhiv direction, the invaders attacked 17 times near Tsukuryne, Oleksandropol, Heorhiivka, Bohoiavlenka, Katerynivka, and Kostiantynivka. Thirteen attempts to advance were repelled, while four are still ongoing.
In the Vremivka direction, the enemy stormed our positions 11 times near Vuhledar, Bohoiavlenka, Katerynivka, and Yelizavetivka. Nine battles have concluded, and two are still ongoing. Additionally, involving aviation, the invaders struck with artillery in the areas of Rivnopillia, Novodarivka, and Zolota Nyva.
In the Orikhiv direction, there were three clashes. The enemy conducted offensive actions in the area of Novodanylivka. The opponent also carried out three airstrikes on Zaporizhzhia and Mala Tokmachka.
In other directions, the operational situation remains unchanged.
Recall that over the past day, from October 28 to 29, Russia lost 1,170 soldiers in its war against Ukraine. Additionally, due to the actions of the Ukrainian defense forces, the enemy lost 62 artillery systems and 38 armored combat vehicles.
