As of 22:00 on September 27, 170 combat engagements have been recorded on the frontlines since the start of the day. The fiercest fighting is concentrated in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions, with Russian forces remaining active in the Kupiansk, Lyman, and Vremivka directions, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Enemy shelling

Today, the enemy launched 66 airstrikes across Ukraine, deploying over 70 guided aerial bombs (KAB) and using 676 kamikaze drones. In addition, Russian forces carried out more than 3,700 shelling attacks targeting Ukrainian military positions and civilian settlements.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy launched six attacks near Vovchansk and Tykhe, with three ongoing engagements at present. The situation remains under control.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces attempted 16 assaults throughout the day near Synkivka, Novoselivka, Hlushkivka, Kruhliakivka, Kucherivka, and Lozova. Six of these attacks were repelled by Ukrainian Defense Forces, with fighting still ongoing.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy carried out 14 attacks in the areas of Hrekivka, Makiivka, Nevske, Zarichne, Torske, and Novosadove. Two clashes are still underway, while the rest were halted by Ukrainian forces.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Russian activity led to nine combat engagements. All attacks near Hryhorivka, Predtechyne, Chasiv Yar, Bila Hora, and Stupochky were repelled, with the Russian army suffering losses.

In the Toretsk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled seven enemy attacks near Toretsk, Shcherbanivka, and New York. All assaults were successfully fended off by Ukrainian troops.

The enemy attempted to breach Ukrainian defenses 47 times in the Pokrovsk direction. Since the start of the day, Russian forces near the settlements of Vozdvyzhenka, Novotoretske, Mykolaivka, Hrodivka, Novohrodivka, Lysivka, Krutyi Yar, Dachenske, Marynivka, Selydove, and Novotoretske have faced fierce resistance from Ukrainian defenders. Two attacks are still ongoing.

"The enemy is suffering heavy losses. According to preliminary reports, our forces have neutralized more than 350 Russian soldiers in this direction today, 175 of whom are irreversibly eliminated. Five artillery systems, 11 armored fighting vehicles, two BM-21 Grad rocket launchers, and nine vehicles were destroyed. Additionally, eight vehicles, seven artillery systems, two tanks, and three armored fighting vehicles were damaged," the report stated.

In the Kurakhove direction, the enemy launched 26 attacks on Ukrainian positions, showing the most activity near Tsukuryne, Heorhiivka, Kostiantynivka, and Katerynivka. Ukrainian defenders repelled 23 of these attacks, with three clashes still ongoing.

In the Vremivka direction, Ukrainian forces successfully repelled 11 enemy attacks near Vuhledar, Bohoyavlenka, Vodiane, and Katerynivka.

The Russian army also made three unsuccessful attempts to assault Ukrainian positions in the Orikhiv and Huliaipole directions near Novodarivka, Robotyne, and Mali Shcherbaky but were met with a strong response.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the enemy continues its attempts to dislodge Ukrainian forces from their positions. The Russian army launched two unsuccessful assaults on Ukrainian troops throughout the day.

Additionally, the General Staff recognized the effective and professional combat work of the 35th Separate Marine Brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi, and the 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Hetman Ivan Mazepa, both of which have been successfully inflicting significant losses on the enemy in personnel and equipment.

From September 26 to 27, Russia lost 1,370 soldiers in the war against Ukraine. Ukrainian forces also destroyed 21 tanks, 48 armored fighting vehicles, and 58 artillery systems.
