Since the beginning of the day on September 26, 181 combat engagements have occurred on the front lines. The situation remains most intense in the Pokrovsk direction, though Russian forces are also conducting active operations in the Kurakhove direction, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In its evening briefing, the military command updated the operational situation as of 22:00 on September 26.

The General Staff noted that Ukraine’s Defense Forces continue to firmly repel enemy attempts to advance deeper into our territory, inflicting heavy fire damage on them.

Russian shelling

Since the beginning of the day, Russian forces have launched four missile strikes using six missiles, along with 57 airstrikes, dropping 66 guided bombs on Ukrainian territory.

In addition, the enemy deployed 729 kamikaze drones for attacks and carried out over 3,800 shellings targeting Ukrainian Defense Forces positions and civilian settlements.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv direction, Ukrainian forces repelled three enemy assaults near Starytsia, Tykhe, and Vovchansk. The battles have now concluded.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces advanced near Synkivka, Hlushkivka, Lozova, Stelmakhivka, and Kolisnykivka. Nineteen clashes have been completed, while one battle is still ongoing.

In the Lyman direction, Russian troops stormed Ukrainian positions near Hrekivka, Nevske, Novosadove, and Torske. All 15 engagements in the area have ended.

In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian forces fended off four enemy assaults around Bilohorivka, Verkhnokamianske, and Spirne.

In the Kramatorsk direction, 10 clashes occurred near Minkivka, Hryhorivka, and Bila Hora, with two enemy attacks still underway.

In the Toretsk direction, 17 combat engagements took place as Russian forces assaulted Ukrainian positions near Toretsk, Shcherbynivka, and Leonidivka. Fourteen of these battles have concluded, while three are still ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk direction, 39 clashes occurred in areas near Zelene Pole, Mykolaivka, Lysivka, Krutyi Yar, Novohrodivka, Selydove, Marynivka, and Krasnyi Yar. Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 34 enemy offensives, with five battles still in progress.

"Today in this sector, 278 Russian troops were neutralized, 116 of them permanently. Additionally, two enemy guns, four UAVs, two electronic warfare systems, three vehicles, and two pieces of motorized equipment were destroyed. An armored personnel carrier, four artillery systems, two vehicles, and two motorcycles were also damaged," the General Staff reported.

In the Kurakhove direction, Russian forces launched 34 assaults near Tsukuryne, Zhelanne Druhe, Heorhiivka, Mykolaivka, Paraskoviivka, Kostiantynivka, and Katerynivka. Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 27 attacks, with seven battles still ongoing.

In the Vremivka direction, the enemy made five attempts to dislodge Ukrainian units from their defensive positions near Vodiane, Katerynivka, and Bohoyavlenka. Four battles have concluded, and one is still underway.

In the Orikhiv direction, three combat engagements took place, with Russian forces attacking near Robotyne.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the enemy launched two assaults on Ukrainian positions but was defeated.

The General Staff added that Ukraine's Defense Forces continue operations in the Kursk region.

"Enemy aviation continues to strike Russian territory with guided bombs. So far, there have been 12 airstrikes involving 14 guided bombs," the evening report states.

Additionally, military command noted no significant changes in other directions.

Earlier, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Russian forces had lost 1,400 soldiers, 10 tanks, 44 armored vehicles, over 70 artillery systems, and other equipment in the past 24 hours.
