Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of September 16
Over the last day, September 15, 173 combat engagements took place in the frontline. Most combat engagements were registered in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove sectors, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"Over the past day, the aviation, missile forces, and artillery of the Ukrainian Defense Forces hit 15 areas where the Russian personnel, weapons, and military equipment were concentrated," the General Staff writes.
Sectors
In the Kharkiv sector, Russia attacked once near Vovchansk.
There were 20 firefights in the Kupiansk sector. Russian attacks were repelled near Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Kolisnykivka, Hlushkivka, Kruhliakivka and Lozova.
In the Lyman sector, Russia attacked 24 times near Druzheliubivka, Kovalivka, Tverdokhlibove, Nevske, Makiivka, Terny, and Novosadove.
In the Siversk sector, 12 Russian attacks were repelled near Bilohorivka, Verkhniokamianske, Vyimka, and Ivano-Dariivka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, the Russians attacked three times in the vicinity of Stupochky and Kurdiumivka.
In the Toretsk sector, Russia conducted 16 attacks near Druzhba, Nelipivka, Toretsk, and Shcherbynivka.
In the Pokrovsk sector, Russia carried out 36 attacks in the vicinity of Vozdvyzhenka, Novotoretsk, Zelene Pole, Novooleksandrivka, Hrodivka, and other localities.
In the Kurakhove sector, 42 Russian attacks were repelled. The Russians were most actively trying to advance in the areas of Kostiantynivka and Heorhiivka.
In the Vremivka sector, the Russians carried out 10 assaults in the areas of Vodiane, Katerynivka, Solodke, and Makarivka. They actively used attack and bomber aircraft to carry out attacks in the area.
In the Orikhiv sector, Russians attacked Novodarivka in a battle.
In the Prydniprovskyi sector, Russia tried to dislodge Ukrainian units from their positions eight times.
Russia's losses in war against Ukraine
Over the past day, the Ukrainian Defense Forces eliminated another 1,060 Russian occupants, including 3 tanks, 8 armored combat vehicles, and 14 artillery systems.
In total, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia's losses in manpower exceed 634,000 units.
