Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of September 9

Over the last day, September 8, 164 combat engagements were registered in the frontline. Most of the fighting took place in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove sectors, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"Over the past 24 hours, the aviation, missile forces and artillery of the Ukrainian Defense Forces conducted 11 strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel and weapons, destroyed two artillery systems and one air defense system of the Russian invaders," Ukraine's General Staff writes.
Sectors
In the Kharkiv sector, 5 combat engagements took place in the areas of Vovchansk, Tykhe, and Starytsia.
In the Kupiansk sector, Russia attacked 15 times near Synkivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Lozova, Stelmakhivka, Miasozharivka, and in the direction of Hlushkivka.
In the Lyman sector, 12 Russian attacks were repelled in the areas of Nevske, Novosadove, Torske, Dibrova, and Cherneshchyna.
In the Siversk sector, Russians attacked 10 times near Spirne, Bilohorivka, Hryhorivka, and Verkhniokamianske. Russia conducted four of the above attacks near the latter.
In the Kramatorsk sector, 10 Russian attempts to break through the defenses in the areas of Andriivka, Maiske, Chasiv Yar, Bila Hora, Predtechyne, and Klishchiyivka were stopped.
In the Toretsk sector, Russians launched 24 attacks in the areas of Pivnichne, Zalizne Nyzhyk, Toretsk, and Nelipivka. They also attacked near Druzhba.
In the Pokrovsk sector, 39 Russian attacks were repelled in the areas of Zelene Pole, Vozdvyzhenka, Novotroitske, Hrodivka, Novohrodivka, Selydove, Marynivka and Mykhailivka.
In the Kurakhove sector, 30 Russian attacks were repelled in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Dolyna, Ukrayinka, Heorhiivka, and Kostiantynivka.
In the Vremivka sector, Russians attacked 4 times in the direction of Vodiane.
In the Orikhiv sector, Russia attacked twice near Mala Tokmachka and Robotyne.
Russia's losses in war against Ukraine
Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, as of today, September 9, Russia has lost more than 626 manpower units. Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Defense Forces eliminated another 1,150 Russian troops and destroyed 3 Russian tanks, 9 armored combat vehicles, 26 artillery systems, and more.
