As of 22:00 on August 18, 110 combat engagements were recorded on the frontlines throughout the day. The most intense situation remains in the Pokrovsk direction, where Russian forces attempted 33 assaults, according to the evening update from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Enemy shelling

Russian forces launched four strikes on Ukrainian territory using seven missiles and carried out 50 airstrikes, dropping 62 guided bombs. Additionally, they deployed 577 kamikaze drones and conducted over 3,200 shelling attacks on Ukrainian military positions and populated areas.

Frontline situation

According to updated information, there were three combat engagements in the Kharkiv direction, near Vovchansk and Lyptsi. Two enemy attacks are still ongoing.

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy attacked the defensive positions of Ukrainian forces 16 times, particularly near Synkivka, Hlushkivka, Kolisnykivka, and Stelmakhivka. Twelve battles have concluded, while four are ongoing.

In the Lyman direction, 15 combat engagements occurred throughout the day. Russian forces launched assaults near Hrekivka, Nevske, Makiivka, Torske, and Terni. Two attacks are currently continuing.

In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled an enemy assault near Verkhniokamianske.

In the Kramatorsk direction, 10 battles took place near Hryhorivka, Kalynivka, Chasiv Yar, Predtechyne, and Klishchiivka. At present, no combat engagements are ongoing.

In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian troops 19 times near Diliivka, Zalizne, Nelipivka, and Toretsk. Sixteen assaults were repelled, and three are still underway. The situation remains under the control of our forces.

In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, 33 battles have been fought in the areas of Hrodivka, Vozdvyzhenka, Zelene Pole, Kalynove, Myroliubivka, Mykolaivka, Novohrodivka, Ptyche, Zavitne, and Mykhailivka. The defense forces have repelled 24 attacks, with nine still ongoing.

"Today, 231 enemy troops were neutralized in this direction. A tank, two artillery systems, a 120mm mortar, four UAVs, and nine vehicles were destroyed. Additionally, an MT-LB, two artillery systems, a 120mm mortar, and five vehicles were damaged," the report states.

In the Kurakhove direction, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions near Paraskoviivka, Krasnohorivka, and Kostiantynivka six times, suffering defeat in the resulting engagements.

In the Vremivka direction, the enemy launched four offensive actions toward Vuhledar, Rozdolne, and Vodiane. One battle is still ongoing.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the enemy was unsuccessful in three attempts to breach the defensive lines of Ukrainian units.

No changes have been reported in other directions.

The General Staff also recognized the soldiers of the 100th Separate Mechanized Brigade and the 35th Separate Marine Brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi, who were effectively destroying the enemy, inflicting significant losses in manpower and equipment.

Over the past day, Russian army losses at the front amounted to 1,170 soldiers. In total, since the start of the full-scale war, Russia has lost approximately 599,350 military personnel. Additionally, during the night of August 17 to 18, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed seven tanks and 71 enemy artillery systems.
