Situation in the Kursk region

On August 6, it was reported that the border in the Kursk region was breached. The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed to have stopped the advance but later admitted that fighting continues.

Battles have reached the city of Sudzha. Reports suggest that the settlement is under Ukrainian control. This city is significant for the Russians as it hosts a station that facilitates the transit of Russian gas to Europe through Ukraine.

Another focal point of the fighting is the settlement of Korenevo. Media reports indicate that the combat zone in the Kursk region covers approximately 800 square kilometers. Ukrainian command has not officially commented on the situation in the border areas of the Russian Federation.
