Since the beginning of the day, August 7, 54 combat engagements took place on the frontline. Enemy aircraft are active near the border areas of the Sumy region, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"Russian invaders continue to storm the positions of Ukrainian defenders. A total of 54 combat engagements took place today. The current day is characterized by increased activity of enemy aviation near the border areas of Sumy region - the enemy has already dropped about thirty guided bombs," the General Staff writes.

Situation in the frontlines

In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy made two attacks near Tykhe and near Vovchansk. The battle continues.

In the Kupiansk direction, the Russian troops unsuccessfully attacked twice near Petropavlivka and in the direction of Novoosynove.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked 11 times. Currently, four battles are ongoing in the area of Nevske and the Serebryanske forestry. The situation is under control.

In the Siversk direction, the Russians attacked four times near Verkhniokamianske and Pereyizne. Ukrainian troops repelled three attacks, another firefight is ongoing.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy unsuccessfully attacked near Chasiv Yar. Another battle is still ongoing.

In the Toretsk direction, the Russian forces attacked seven times in the areas of Toretsk, Pivnichne and New York. Two firefights are ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk direction, eight attacks were repelled, and nine more combat engagements are ongoing.

In the Kurakhove direction, the enemy attacked four times near Paraskoviivka and Kostiantynivka. They attacked with unguided aircraft rockets. The fighting continues.

In the Vremivka direction, the Russian army tried to break through the Ukrainian defense twice, unsuccessfully attacking from the direction of Volodymyrivka.

In the Orikhiv direction, the Russian forces did not conduct active offensive actions. However, they shelled the areas of Lobkove, Piatykhatky and Novoandriivka with multiple rocket launchers, launching more than fifty missiles.

One enemy attack was repelled in the Prydniprovskyi direction.

Russia's losses in the war

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Russia has lost more than 586,000 personnel. Over the past 24 hours, on August 6, according to the General Staff, the Defense Forces eliminated another 1,230 Russian soldiers. They also destroyed:

  • 8 tanks;
  • 29 armored personnel vehicles;
  • 67 artillery systems.
