Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of September 5
Over 120 combat engagements took place in the frontline yesterday, August 4. In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian troops repelled 30 Russian attacks, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"Over the past day, the aviation and missile forces and artillery of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck 14 times at Russian troop concentrations, destroyed one artillery system and three control points of the Russian occupiers," Ukraine's General Staff writes.
Sectors
In the Kharkiv sector, the Russians continue their assault operations. 11 combat engagements were recorded in the areas of Hlyboke, Lypky, Tykhe, and Vovchansk.
In the Kupiansk sector, the number of combat engagements increased to 6. The Russians focused their attacks on Petropavlivka.
In the Lyman sector, 8 Russian attacks were repelled in the vicinity of Makiivka, Terny, and Nevske.
In the Siversk sector, 8 Russian attacks were repelled near Spirne, Verkhniokamianske, Pereyizne, and Vyimka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Ukrainian troops stopped 15 Russian attempts in the areas of Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Stupochky, Bila Hora, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka.
Russian troops attacked 18 times in the Toretsk sector. Most of the fighting took place near New York and Toretsk.
In the Pokrovsk sector, 30 Russian attacks were repelled. Russia concentrated its efforts in the vicinity of Zhelanne and Novooleksandrivka.
In the Kurakhove sector, 11 Russian attacks were repelled.
In the Vremivka sector, Russians stormed Ukrainian positions 6 times.
In the Orikhiv sector, three firefights took place near Mala Tokmachka. Two more battles took place near Robotyne and in the direction of Novodanylivka.
Russia attacked twice in the Prydniprovskyi sector and was defeated.
