Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of July 27
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports that, as of 16:00 on July 27, 73 combat engagements took place in the frontline. The Pokrovsk sector remained the hottest, where the enemy made 21 attempts to storm Ukrainian positions.
The agency noted that the enemy continues to use artillery on the territory of the Chernihiv and Sumy regions. In particular, the areas of Basivka, Miropillia, Turya, Volfyne, Stepok and Sydorivka came under enemy fire.
Situation at the frontlines
Six combat engagements took place in the Kharkiv direction today. Ukrainian Defense Forces prevented three Russian attacks near Hlyboke and two attacks near Vovchansk and Tykhe. Another enemy assault near Vovchansk is being repelled.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy is attacking in the vicinity of Makiivka, Nevske, and Novosergiivka. In total, there have been 12 combat engagements in this sector since the beginning of the day, five of which are still ongoing.
In the Siversk direction, the enemy failed in their attempts to storm Ukrainian positions near Verkhnekamianske and Spirne. A total of five attacks took place.
The battle continues in the area of Andriivka in the Kramatorsk direction, where the enemy is trying to advance on the positions of Ukrainian defenders with the support of aviation.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions nine times with the support of attack and bomber aircraft. At present, fighting continues near Pivnichne and Zalizne.
The situation is the hottest in the Pokrovsk direction. Fierce fighting is taking place in the areas of Vozdvyzhenka, Novooleksandrivka, Vesele, Serhiivka, Tymofiivka, and Yasnobrodivka. So far, the enemy has made 21 attempts to storm Ukrainian positions.
In the Kurakhove direction, one firefight continues in the area of Krasnohorivka. Nine enemy attacks were repelled near Heorhiivka, Paraskoviivka, and Kostiantynivka.
In the Vremivka direction, three enemy assaults towards Rozdolne were repelled. At the same time, the enemy continues to try to break through the Ukrainian Armed Forces' defenses in the direction of Kostiantynivka, where two enemy attacks have been repelled so far.
The situation in the Orikhiv direction has not changed significantly, with three unsuccessful enemy attacks repelled by Ukrainian defenders. The invaders are actively using aviation in the areas of Mala Tokmachka, Kamianske, Pyatykhatky, and Huliaipole.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, one attack by the enemy was unsuccessful.
“The Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is taking the necessary measures to restrain the enemy's offensive and inflict significant losses on them,” the General Staff added.
Enemy losses
107 combat engagements were registered at the front yesterday, July 26. Since the beginning of the day, the enemy has made 30 assaults on Ukrainian positions in the Pokrovsk sector and is paying a heavy price for it.
“The enemy's losses since the beginning of the day amount to 187 people killed and wounded. Three tanks, a cannon, two armored vehicles, 14 vehicles, and two motorcycles were destroyed. Among the damaged enemy vehicles are 2C1 self-propelled artillery systems, two armored combat vehicles, and eight cars,” the General Staff wrote.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that from July 26 to July 27, the estimated enemy losses amounted to 1210 soldiers. In total, since the beginning of the full-scale war, the Russians' losses amount to 573,510 people.
