Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of July 16

Over the last day, July 15, 119 combat engagements took place in the frontline. In several areas, Russia actively used aviation, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"Yesterday, the aviation and missile forces and artillery of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck 11 areas of concentration of Russian personnel, a Russian command center, 2 air defense facilities, radar, and an electronic warfare station," the General Staff writes.
Sectors
In the Kharkiv sector, 18 combat engagements took place near Vovchansk and Hlyboke. Russia was actively using aviation.
In the Kupiansk sector, Russia attacked 5 times. Attacks near Petropavlivka in the Kharkiv region and Stelmakhivka in the Luhansk region were repelled.
In the Siversk sector, 7 Russian attacks were repelled near Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region, Rozdolivka, Verkhnekamianske, and Spirne in the Donetsk region.
In the Kramatorsk sector, 6 Russian attempts to break through the Ukrainian defense near Hryhorivka and Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region were stopped.
In the Toretsk sector, the Russians attacked 14 times, concentrating their efforts on New York and Pivnichne. In particular, they supported the attacks with air strikes.
In the Pokrovsk sector, 31 Russian attacks were repelled. Russia was also actively using aviation.
In the Kurakhove sector, Russians tried 17 times to seize Ukrainian troops' fortifications in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Paraskoviivka, and Karlivka.
In the Vremivka sector, Russia stormed 7 times near Vodiane, Kostiantynivka, and Makarivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Orikhiv sector, the Russians attacked 3 times near Mala Tokmachka and Novoandriivka.
Russia conducted 3 unsuccessful assaults in the Prydniprovskyi sector.
Russia's losses in war against Ukraine
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russia's losses in manpower amount to more than 561,000 troops. Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Defense Forces eliminated another 1,110 Russian troops, 13 Russian tanks, 36 armored combat vehicles, and 44 artillery systems.
