Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of May 30
Ukrainian troops concentrate on the Tavria, Donetsk, and Slobozhanskyi operational areas. Since the beginning of May 30, 28 combat engagements have already been recorded, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the General Staff, Russia fired 534 times at the positions of Ukrainian soldiers and populated areas using various types of weapons.
Situation in sectors
An attack from Murom to Starytsia was repelled in the Kharkiv sector. Russia is deploying additional forces in the area.
In the Kupiansk sector, Ukrainian troops repelled a Russian attack near Stepova Novoselivka. The battle near Petropavlivka continues.
In the Lyman sector, the battle in Serebryanskyi forest is ongoing.
In the Siversk sector, Russians made six attempts to break through Ukraine's defenses. Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled a Russian attack near Bilohorivka. Five Russian assaults near Rozdolivka are being repelled.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Ukrainian troops repelled a Russian attack near Klishchiivka. Two more battles are ongoing in the Novyi and Kalynivka neighborhoods.
In the Toretsk sector, Russia has intensified its activities. A firefight is currently underway near Kurdiumivka.
In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled two Russian attacks near Sokil.
Seven firefights took place in the Kurakhove sector. Five Russian attacks were repelled in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Kostiantynivka, and Heorhiivka. The situation is under the control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Fighting continues near Krasnohorivka and Umanske.
In the Vremivka sector, fighting continues near Staromaiorske.
In the Orikhiv sector, fighting continues near Mali Shcherbaky.
Russian offensive
Since May 10, Russian troops have been trying to break through the defenses of Ukrainian soldiers in the north of the Kharkiv region. According to the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, Russia planned to take Vovchansk in a few days and reach Kharkiv in five days.
According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the losses in the area are 8 (Russia) to 1 (Ukraine).
