Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of April 26

Ukrainian soldiers repelled Russian attacks on the left bank of the Dnipro River, hitting enemy material and technical assets. Meanwhile, occupiers conducted an airstrike near the village of Paraskoviivka in the Donetsk region, according to the data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian shelling of Ukraine
During the day, 79 combat engagements were recorded. In total, the enemy delivered 1 missile strike and 67 airstrikes, carrying out 54 barrages from rocket artillery systems on the positions of our troops and civilian settlements.
Situation at frontlines
In the Volyn and Polissia direction, the operational situation remains unchanged, with no significant changes observed in the formation of enemy offensive groupings.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske direction, the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts sabotage-reconnaissance activities, shells civilian settlements from Russian territory, and increases the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border of Ukraine.
They carried out airstrikes on the city of Sumy and in the areas of the settlements of Volfyne in the Sumy region; Derhachi, Vysoka Yaruga, Lyptsi, Ohirtseve, and Vodyane in the Kharkiv region. Enemy artillery and mortar shelling affected over 20 settlements, including Hrinivka, Yeline, Huta-Studenetska, Lubiane, and Buchky in the Chernihiv region; Progress, Starykove, Bilopillya, and Bilovody in the Sumy region.
In the Kupiansk direction, our soldiers repelled 7 attacks in the areas of the settlements of Kyslivka and Berestove in the Kharkiv region; Stelmakhivka in the Luhansk region. The enemy conducted airstrikes in the areas of the settlements of Pishchane and Hlushkivka in the Kharkiv region.
Approximately 10 settlements, including Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Stepova, and Novoselivka in the Kharkiv region, were under artillery and mortar fire.
In the Lyman direction, Defense Forces repelled 9 attacks in the area of Serebryanske forestry in the Luhansk region; settlements of Terny and south of Zarichne in the Donetsk region.
Over 10 settlements were affected by artillery and mortar shelling, including Makiiivka in the Luhansk region; Terny, Yampolivka, and Torske in the Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, our troops repelled 8 attacks in the areas of settlements of Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region; Viyimka, Spirne, and Ivanivske in the Donetsk region, where the enemy attempted to improve tactical positions. The enemy also conducted airstrikes in the area of the settlement of Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region.
Over 10 settlements, including Hryhorivka, Kalynivka, and Klishchiivka in the Donetsk region, were under artillery and mortar fire.
In the Avdiivka direction, our defenders repelled 23 attacks in the areas of settlements of Arkhangelske, Keramik, Ocheretyne, Semenivka, Umanske, and Kalynove in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, with aviation support, attempted to displace our units from occupied positions.
Additionally, the enemy conducted airstrikes in the areas of settlements of Novobakhmutivka and Memryk in the Donetsk region. Over 10 settlements, including Keramik, Arkhangelske, and Soloviove in the Donetsk region, were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Novopavlivka direction, the Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy in the areas of settlements of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Prechystivka, and Urozhainne in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, with aviation support, attempted to breach our troops' defense 12 times.
The enemy conducted airstrikes in the areas of settlements of Paraskoviivka and Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk region. Over 10 settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, and Vuhledar in the Donetsk region, were under the enemy's artillery and mortar fire.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy, with aviation support, attacked our defenders' positions three times in the area of Staramaiorske in the Donetsk region and Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region. Approximately 20 settlements, including Chervone, Bilohirya, and Kamianske in the Zaporizhzhia region, were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Kherson direction, the enemy conducted an airstrike in the area of the settlement of Tomaryne in the Kherson region. Around 20 settlements, including Tyahynka, Ivanivka, Novotyahynka, Bilozerka, Veletenske, Kizomys, and Tokarivka in the Kherson region, were affected by artillery and mortar shelling.
Situation on the left bank of the Dnipro River
The enemy persists in its intention to displace our units from the bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro River.
During the day, with aviation support, they carried out 3 unsuccessful attacks on the positions of our forces in the area of the settlement of Krynky in the Kherson region.
Russian losses
During the day, Defense Forces aviation conducted strikes on 11 areas where enemy personnel were concentrated.
Missile troops units targeted 2 areas with enemy personnel concentrations, 1 radar station, 3 air defense assets, 1 electronic warfare station, and 1 enemy material and technical resources depot.
It is worth reminding that the total number of losses in the Russian army since the beginning of the invasion is 463,930 military personnel.
