Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of April 15

In Ukraine, 87 combat clashes were recorded within a day. Multi-story and private houses, as well as other infrastructure objects, suffered destruction and damage, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian shelling of Ukraine
In total, the enemy delivered 15 missile and 18 aviation strikes, and conducted 29 shelling attacks with reactive multiple launch rocket systems on the positions of our troops and civilian settlements. Unfortunately, due to Russian terrorist attacks, there are casualties and injuries among the civilian population.
Situation at frontlines
In the Volyn and Polissia direction, the operational situation remains unchanged, with no significant changes observed in the formation of enemy offensive groupings.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske direction, the enemy maintains military presence in the border areas, conducts sabotage-reconnaissance activities, fires on populated areas from the territory of the Russian Federation, and increases the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border of Ukraine. The enemy conducted aviation strikes in the areas of the populated areas Uhroidy and Vozdvizhenske in the Sumy region; Lukianivka and Volokhivka in the Kharkiv region. Artillery and mortar shelling by the enemy affected more than 15 populated areas, including Leonivka, Kostobobriv, and Yanzhulivka in the Chernihiv region; Svesa and Popivka in the Sumy region; Udy, Kozacha Lopan, and Strilecha in the Kharkiv region.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) actions. Approximately 20 populated areas, including Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Kyslivka, and Pishchane in the Kharkiv region, came under artillery and mortar fire.
In the Lyman direction, Defense Forces repelled 4 attacks in the area of the populated locality of Terny in the Donetsk region. More than 10 populated areas, including Makiivka in the Luhansk region and Terny, Yampolivka, Torske, and Zarichne in the Donetsk region, were affected by artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Bakhmut direction, our forces repelled 27 attacks in the areas of populated areas Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region; Verkhniokamianske, Spirne, Novyi, Ivanivske, Klishchivka, and Andriivka in the Donetsk region, where the enemy attempted to improve tactical positions. The enemy conducted an aviation strike in the area of the populated locality of New York in the Donetsk region. Approximately 10 populated areas, including Hryhorivka, Kalynivka, and Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region, came under artillery and mortar fire.
In the Avdiivka direction, our defenders repelled 12 attacks in the areas of populated areas Novobakhmutivka, Berdychiv, Semenivka, Umanske, and Pershomyaske in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, supported by aviation, attempted to dislodge our units from the occupied positions. Approximately 10 populated areas, including Novobakhmutivka, Semenivka, and Netailove in the Donetsk region, came under artillery and mortar fire.
In the Novopavlivka direction, Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy in the areas of populated areas Krasnohorivka, Novomykhailivka, Pobeda, Vodyane, and Urozhaine in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, supported by aviation, attempted to breach the defense of our troops 26 times. Approximately 10 populated areas, including Paraskoviivka, Kostiantynivka, and Vuhledar in the Donetsk region, came under artillery and mortar fire.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy attacked our defenders' positions near Staromykhailivka in the Donetsk region; north of Pryiutyne and southwest of Bilohirya in the Zaporizhzhia region, 5 times. An aviation strike was carried out in the area of the populated locality of Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region. Approximately 20 populated areas, including Poltavka, Malynivka, Chervone, Bilohirya, and Shcherbaky in the Zaporizhzhia region, came under artillery and mortar fire.
In the Kherson direction, the enemy does not abandon the intention to dislodge our units from the bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro River. During the day, the enemy made 4 unsuccessful attacks on the positions of our troops in the area of the populated locality of Krynka in the Kherson region. Approximately 20 populated areas, including Lvove, Tiahynka, Ivanivka, and Novotiahynka in the Kherson region, came under artillery and mortar fire.
Russian losses
During the day, Defense Forces aviation struck 2 personnel concentration areas and 1 enemy command post.
Missile troops units targeted 1 artillery weapon, 3 personnel concentration areas, and 4 enemy UAV command posts.
Shelling in Ukraine
In March, Russia resumed strikes on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. After massive attacks, the most severe situation is in Kharkiv and the surrounding region, where the Zmiiv Thermal Power Plant and cogeneration plant were heavily damaged. Additionally, the enemy completely destroyed the Trypillia Thermal Power Plant in the Kyiv region.
Currently, according to Ukrenergo data, the most severe electricity shortages are observed in the Kharkiv region. Emergency outages or schedules are implemented there daily.
At the same time, Ukrenergo urges Ukrainians to limit the use of powerful energy-consuming devices during peak consumption hours from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
