Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of April 1

Russian shelling

Over the past day, there have been 53 combat engagements. Overall, the enemy has launched 22 missile strikes and 79 air strikes, as well as 97 shelling attacks from rocket artillery on the positions of our troops and civilian areas.

Unfortunately, due to Russian terrorist attacks, there are casualties and injuries among the civilian population. Several multi-story buildings and other objects of civilian infrastructure have been destroyed or damaged.

The following areas were subjected to air strikes:

• Oleksandrivka, Sumy region;
• Kozacha Lopan, Ohirceve, Kharkiv, Borschtova, Vovchansk, Petropavlivka, Kotliarivka, Cherneshchyna, Pershotravneve, Kharkiv region;
• Bilohorivka, Luhansk region;
• Terny, Yampolivka, Chasiv Yar, Rozdolivka, Umanske, Novobakhmutivka, Ocheretyne, Berdychi, Orlivka, Novomykhailivka, Pobieda, Urozhaine, Staromaiorske, Donetsk region;
• Huliaipole, Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region.

Additionally, more than 110 populated areas in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions were under artillery fire.

Frontline situation

In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains relatively unchanged.

In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts sabotage activities to prevent the transfer of our troops to critical areas, and increases the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border.

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy did not engage in offensive (assault) actions.

In the Lyman direction, our troops repelled 3 enemy attacks in the area of the village of Terny in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, supported by aviation, attempted to break through our troops' defense.

In the Bakhmut direction, our troops repelled 8 attacks in the areas of the villages of Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region; Verkhniokamianske, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, Andriivka in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, supported by aviation, tried to improve their tactical position.

In the Avdiivka direction, our defenders repelled 13 attacks in the areas of the villages of Berdychi, Semenivka, Umanske, Pervomaiske, and Nevelske in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, supported by aviation, tried to dislodge our units from their positions.

In the Novopavlivka direction, the Defense Forces continued to contain the enemy in the areas of the villages of Heorhiivka, Novomykhailivka, and east of Vodiane in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, supported by aviation, attempted 22 times to break through our troops' defense.

In the Orikhiv direction, the occupiers carried out 2 attacks on the positions of our defenders in the areas of Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region and Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Kherson direction, the enemy continues its intention to dislodge our units from the bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro River. During the past day, they attacked our troops' positions twice.

At the same time, our soldiers continue active operations to inflict losses on the occupation forces in personnel and equipment, wearing down the enemy along the entire front line of the conflict.

Enemy losses

During the past day, the Air Force struck at 11 areas where enemy personnel, equipment, and military vehicles were concentrated, as well as at 3 enemy air defense missile systems.

Missile troops units struck at 3 unmanned aerial vehicle control points, 1 air defense system, 1 electronic warfare station, and 1 enemy artillery system.

It should be noted that the total number of losses in the Russian army since the beginning of the invasion is 442,170 military personnel.
