Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of March 29

There have been 61 combat clashes on the front, with Ukrainian soldiers repelling Russian attacks near Terny in the Donetsk region and damaging an enemy command post, according to data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian shelling of Ukraine
During the day, 61 combat clashes were recorded. In total, the enemy launched 38 missile strikes and 59 aerial attacks, as well as carried out 72 shelling incidents with rocket artillery systems targeting our troops' positions and civilian areas.
Situation at frontlines
In the Volyn and Polissia direction, the operational situation remains unchanged, with no significant changes observed in the formation of enemy offensive groupings.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske direction, the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts sabotage-reconnaissance activities, shells populated areas from the territory of the Russian Federation, and increases the density of mine-explosive obstacles along the state border of Ukraine.
The enemy carried out air strikes in the areas of Bochkove, Uspenivka, and Khrypuny in the Kharkiv region. Approximately 10 populated areas were subjected to enemy artillery and mortar shelling, including Zarychchia and Leonivka in the Chernihiv region; Oleksiivka and Myropillia in the Sumy region; and Veterynarne, Vovchansk, and Potyhonove in the Kharkiv region.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy did not engage in offensive (assault) actions. Approximately 15 populated areas, including Synkivka, Stepova Novoselivka, and Kotliarivka in the Kharkiv region, came under artillery and mortar fire.
In the Lyman direction, our troops repelled 10 enemy attacks in the areas of Terny in the Donetsk region and Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region, where the enemy, supported by aviation, attempted to break through our troops' defense. The enemy also carried out air strikes in the areas of Izyumske in the Kharkiv region, Novoehorivka in the Luhansk region, and Yampolivka in the Donetsk region.
Over 10 populated areas, including Bilohorivka and Nevske in the Luhansk region and Serebrianske forestry, suffered from artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Bakhmut direction, our troops repelled 2 attacks in the areas of Klyshchiivka and Andriivka in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, supported by aviation, attempted to improve its tactical position. The enemy also carried out air strikes in the areas of Chasiv Yar and Ivanivske in the Donetsk region.
Over 10 populated areas, including Bohdanivka, Kalynivka, and Stupochky in the Donetsk region, came under artillery and mortar fire.
In the Avdiivka direction, our defenders repelled 16 attacks in the areas of Berdychiv, Umanske, Tonenke, Pervomaiske, and Nevelske in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, supported by aviation, attempted to dislodge our units from their occupied positions.
The enemy also carried out air strikes in the areas of Novobakhmutivka, Mezhove, and Yasnobrodivka in the Donetsk region. Approximately 15 populated areas, including Novokalynove, Novobakhmutivka, and Semenivka in the Donetsk region, were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Novopavlivka direction, the defense forces continue to restrain the enemy in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Novomykhailivka, and Vodiane in the Donetsk region, where the enemy attempted to breach our troops' defense over 20 times. The enemy also carried out air strikes in the areas of Krasnohorivka and Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk region.
Over 10 populated areas, including Paraskeviiivka, Kostiantynivka, and Vuhledar in the Donetsk region, came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy, supported by aviation, made 2 unsuccessful attacks on our defenders' positions in the areas of Staryi Maiorsk in the Donetsk region and northwest of Verbove in the Zaporizhzhia region. The enemy also carried out air strikes in the areas of Orihiv, Novodanilivka, and Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Approximately 10 populated areas, including Malynivka, Chervone, Bilohirya, and Shcherbaky in the Zaporizhzhia region, were subjected to enemy artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Kherson direction, during the day, the enemy carried out 2 attacks on the positions of our troops on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Over 10 populated areas, including Tyahynka, Ivanivka, Mykilske in the Kherson region, and the city of Kherson, were subjected to enemy artillery and mortar shelling.
Russian losses
During the day, the Defense Forces aviation struck 1 command post, 1 anti-aircraft missile system, and 10 areas of enemy personnel, armament, and military equipment concentration.
Missile forces units targeted 2 areas of enemy personnel concentration, 2 anti-aircraft missile systems, and 1 enemy artillery weapon.
It is worth reminding that the total number of losses in the Russian army since the beginning of the invasion has exceeded 440,000 soldiers.
