Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of March 20

On the battlefield, there were 67 clashes, Ukrainian soldiers repelled Russian attacks near Zolote in the Luhansk region and damaged the enemy's ammunition depot, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian shelling
During the day, 67 clashes were recorded. In total, the enemy inflicted 2 rocket and 54 aviation strikes, and conducted 41 artillery shelling attacks from reactive volley fire systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas.
Unfortunately, there are casualties among the civilian population as a result of Russian terrorist attacks. Multi-storey and private houses have been damaged and destroyed.
Frontline situation
On the Volyn and Polissia fronts, the operational situation remains unchanged without significant changes. There are no signs of the enemy forming attacking groups.
On the Siversk and Slobozhanske fronts, the enemy maintains a military presence in border areas, conducts sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shells populated areas from Russian territory, and increases the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border of Ukraine.
The enemy conducted aviation strikes in the areas of populated settlements: Hrytsenkove, Popivka, Velyka Pysarivka of the Sumy region; Oleksandrivka, Kozacha Lopan, and Veterynarne of the Kharkiv region. Enemy artillery and mortar shelling targeted more than 20 populated areas, including Senkivka, Klyusy, Prohres, Hremyach of the Chernihiv region; Volfyne, Myropillya, Ponomarenky of Sumy region; Hatysche, Vovchansk, Budarky, Ambarne of the Kharkiv region.
On the Kupiansk front, there were no enemy offensive actions. Aviation strikes hit the area near the populated settlement of Ivanivka in the Donetsk region. More than 10 populated areas, including Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, and Berestove of the Kharkiv region, came under artillery and mortar fire.
On the Lyman front, our troops repelled 10 enemy attacks in the areas of populated settlements: Bilohorivka, Zolotarivka of the Luhansk region, and Yampolivka, Terni, Rozdolivka, and Veselе of the Donetsk region, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried to break through the defense of our troops.
The enemy also conducted aviation strikes in the areas of populated settlements: Sviato-Pokrovske, Siversk, Kolodyzhi, Veselе, and Lyman of the Donetsk region. More than 15 populated areas, including Serebrianske forestry, Nevske, Bilo-Horivka of the Luhansk region; Torske, Verkhniokamianske, Spirne of the Donetsk region, were affected by artillery and mortar shelling.
On the Bakhmut front, our troops repelled 5 enemy attacks in the areas of populated settlements: Bohdaniivka, Ivanivske, and Klishiivka of the Donetsk region. About 10 populated areas, including Mykolaivka, Vasiukivka, New York of the Donetsk region, came under artillery and mortar fire.
On the Avdiivka front, our defenders repelled 11 enemy attacks in the areas of populated settlements: Berdychiv, Semenivka, Tonenke, Pershomaiske, Netailove, and Nevelske of Donetsk region. The enemy conducted aviation strikes in the area of the populated settlement of Ocheretyne in the Donetsk region.
About 20 populated areas, including Prohres, Zhelanne, Novohrodivka, and Umanske of the Donetsk region, were affected by artillery and mortar shelling.
On the Novopavlivka front, the defense forces continue to hold back the enemy in the areas of populated settlements: Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Novomykhailivka, Vodiane, and Urozhainе, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried 18 times to break through the defense of our troops. The enemy conducted aviation strikes in the areas of populated settlements: Urozhainе, Maksymivka, Dokuchaievsk, Novomykhailivka, and Vodiane of the Donetsk region.
About 20 populated areas, including Krasnohorivka, Berestky, Katerynivka, and Blahodatne of the Donetsk region, came under artillery and mortar fire.
On the Orihiv front, the enemy attacked the positions of our defenders 5 times with the support of aviation in the areas of populated settlements: Staromaiorske of the Donetsk region and Robotyne of the Zaporizhzhia region. The enemy also conducted air strikes in the area of the populated settlement of Novodarivka in the Zaporizhzhia region.
About 15 populated areas, including Huliapole, Mala Tokmachka, Robotyne, and Huliapilske of the Zaporizhzhia region, came under artillery and mortar fire.
On the Kherson front, during the day, the enemy conducted 3 attacks on the positions of our troops on the left bank of the Dnipro River. About 10 populated areas, including Lvove, Tiahynka, Ivanivka, Novotiahynka, and Tokarivka of the Kherson region, came under artillery and mortar fire.
Enemy losses
During the day, the Defense Forces aviation struck 10 areas where enemy personnel, weapons, and military equipment were concentrated.
Missile troops units targeted enemy ammunition depots.
The total number of losses in the Russian army since the beginning of the invasion is 433,090 military personnel.
