Russian losses in the war in Ukraine as of Wednesday morning, March 20, amounted to 700 occupiers, with the total number of casualties in the Russian army since the start of invasion reaching 433,090 military personnel. Additionally, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have destroyed 37 enemy drones and 16 artillery systems, according to the Ukrainian Armed Forces Strategic Command.

The overall Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022 to March 20, 2024 are estimated as follows:

  • Personnel: about 433,090 (+700) individuals;
  • Tanks: 6,828 (+9) units;
  • APV (Armored personnel vehicles): 13,058 (+9) units;
  • Artillery systems: 10,714 (+16) units;
  • MLRS (Multiple launch rocket system): 1,017 units;
  • Anti aircraft warfare systems: 721 units;
  • Aircraft: 347 units;
  • Helicopters: 325 units;
  • UAV operational-tactical level: 8,355 (+37) units;
  • Cruise missiles: 1,922 units;
  • Warships/boats: 26 units;
  • Submarines: 1 unit;
  • Vehicles and fuel tankers: 14,198 (+7) units;
  • Special equipment: 1,738 (+3) units.

Frontline situation

According to the Institute for the Study of War, the Ukrainian Armed Forces conducted reconnaissance operations near Russian positions to the north and northwest of Avdiivka over the past day. Ukrainian defenders also maintain positions on the western outskirts of Ivanovske, with fierce fighting continuing in the town.

There were 80 combat engagements on the frontlines in Ukraine during the past day. Ukrainian missile forces targeted an enemy UAV command post on the ground.
