Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of March 6

In Ukraine, 76 combat engagements took place in the frontline over the last day. Ukrainian soldiers successfully defended against Russian attacks near Ivanivske in the Donetsk region and hit the enemy's ammunition depot, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian attacks
In a single day, there were 76 fights, in total the enemy launched 5 missile strikes and 75 airstrikes, and conducted 65 artillery shelling attacks from reactive salvo systems on the positions of our troops and civilian settlements.
Unfortunately, due to Russian terrorist attacks, there are casualties among the civilian population. Multi-story and private houses, as well as other infrastructure objects, have suffered destruction and damage.
Situation at frontlines
The operational situation remains unchanged in the Volyn and Polissia directions. No significant changes are indicating the formation of offensive groups.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the adversary maintains military presence in border areas, conducts sabotage and reconnaissance activities, fires upon populated areas from the territory of the Russian Federation, and increases the density of mine-explosive obstacles along the state border of Ukraine.
The opponent carried out air strikes in the areas of populated areas in Kamianka, Sumy region, and Kozacha Lopan, Kharkiv region. More than 30 populated areas, including Yeline, Kostobobriv in Chernihiv region; Stara Huta, Mykolaivka, Basivka, Oleksandrivka in Sumy region; Udy, Kozacha Lopan, and Ambarne in Kharkiv region, were subjected to enemy artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Kupiansk direction, the Defense Forces repelled 3 enemy attacks in the area of the settlement Tabaivka in the Kharkiv region. Over 20 populated areas, including Zapadne, Synkivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Kotliarivka in the Kharkiv region, came under artillery and mortar fire.
In the Lyman direction, our soldiers repelled 7 enemy attacks in the areas of populated settlements Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region and Terny, Spirne in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, with aviation support, attempted to break through the defense of our forces. The enemy carried out an aviation strike in the area of the settlement Yampolivka in the Donetsk region.
Approximately 15 populated settlements, including Makiivka, Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region, and Terny, Yampolivka, Torske, and Serebrianka in the Donetsk region, were affected by artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Bakhmut direction, the Defense Forces repelled 11 enemy attacks in the areas of the settlements Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka in the Donetsk region, where the enemy attempted to improve its tactical position.
The enemy conducted aerial strikes in the areas of the settlements Bohdanivka, Stupochky, and New York in the Donetsk region. Additionally, more than 10 populated areas, including Heorhiivka, Chasiv Yar, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka in the Donetsk region, came under artillery and mortar fire.
In the Avdiivka direction, our defenders repelled 20 enemy attacks in the areas of populated settlements Berdychi, Tonenke, Pervomaiske, and Nevelske in the Donetsk region. The enemy conducted air strikes in the areas of populated settlements Pokrovsk and Netailove in the Donetsk region.
Approximately 15 populated settlements, including Novobakhmutivka, Berdychiv, Pervomaiske, and Nevelske in the Donetsk region, were subjected to enemy artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Novopavlivka direction, the Defense Forces continued to restrain the enemy in the areas of the populated settlements of Heorhiivka, Pobieda, and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, attempted 18 times to break through the defense of our troops. The adversary also carried out aviation strikes in the areas of the populated settlements of Krasnohorivka, Vodiane, and Urozhaine in the Donetsk region.
Over 20 populated settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Paraskoviivka, and Vuhledar in the Donetsk region, came under the artillery and mortar fire of the occupiers.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy launched four unsuccessful attacks in the area of the settlement Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region. The adversary carried out aviation strikes in the areas of the settlements Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region and Novodarivka, Chervone in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Artillery and mortar shelling affected more than 15 populated areas, including Malynivka, Charivne, Bilohiria, Novodanylivka, and Piatykhatky in the Zaporizhzhia region.
In the area of responsibility of the operational and strategic grouping of troops "Odesa" in the Kherson direction, the enemy did not engage in assault actions during the day. Over 30 populated areas, including the city of Kherson and Zolota Balka, Lvove, Antonivka, and Stanislav of the Kherson region, were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling.
Enemy losses
During the day, the defense forces' aviation struck 7 areas of enemy personnel concentration.
Missile forces units inflicted damage to 1 ammunition depot and 4 artillery assets of the enemy.
It is worth reminding that the total number of losses in the Russian army since the beginning of the invasion is 420,270 military personnel.
