Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of March 6

In Ukraine, 86 combat engagements took place in the frontline over the last day. The Russians are pressing in two directions in the Donetsk region, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian attacks
In total, the Russians launched 4 missile and 106 air strikes and fired 154 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of our troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties. Multi-storey and private houses, as well as other civilian infrastructure facilities, were destroyed and damaged.
At night, the Russian occupiers once again attacked Ukraine using Shahed UAVs. According to preliminary information, the Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed 38 out of 42 of these drones. Information on casualties and damage to infrastructure is being clarified.
Over the past day, the following localities were hit by Russian air strikes: Kyslivka and Mytrofanivka in the Kharkiv region; Novoyehorivka in the Luhansk region; Terny, Chasiv Yar, Bohdanivka, Kurdiumivka, Druzhba, Semenivka, Vuhledar in the Donetsk region; Malynivka and Mala Tokmachka in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Over 140 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.
Situation at frontlines
The operational situation remains unchanged in the Volyn and Polissia directions.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the Russians maintain a military presence in the border areas, conduct active sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of our troops to threatened areas, and increase the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.
Russian occupiers did not conduct any offensive (assault) actions in the Kupiansk direction.
In the Lyman direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 6 Russian attacks near Verkhnokamianske and Terny in the Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian troops repelled two Russian attacks near Ivanivske and Bila Hora in the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 23 enemy attacks in the areas of Berdychi, Tonenke, Pervomaiske, Vodiane, Nevelske, Semenivka, and Orlivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Novopavlivka direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continued to hold back the enemy in the areas of Heorhiivka, Novomykhailivka, Prechystivka, and Krasnohorivka in the Donetsk region, where Russians tried to break through the defense of Ukrainian troops 39 times.
In the Orikhiv direction, Russians conducted 5 attacks in the vicinity of Huliaipole, Malynivka, and Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region.
In the Kherson direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold their positions. Thus, over the past day, Russians carried out 3 unsuccessful assault actions.
Russian losses
The units of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine destroyed the Russian ship Sergei Kotov of Project 22160.
Over the past day, the aviation of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck 11 areas of concentration of Russian personnel.
Ukrainian missile troops hit 2 command posts, 1 area of concentration of personnel, weapons, and military equipment, 1 ammunition depot, 1 Buk-M1 anti-aircraft missile system, and 1 Zoopark-1 reconnaissance and fire control radar system.
