Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of March 4

Russian shelling

During the past day, there were 78 combat engagements. Overall, the enemy carried out 7 missiles and 50 aviation strikes, as well as 112 shelling attacks from rocket artillery on the positions of our troops and civilian areas.

Unfortunately, due to Russian terrorist attacks, there are casualties and fatalities among the civilian population. Multi-story and private houses, as well as other objects of civilian infrastructure, have been damaged and destroyed.

The following locations were struck by aviation:

• Lisne, Rozhkovychi, Druzhba, Bobylivka, Kyianytsia, Yamne in the Sumy region;
• Vovchansk, Velykyi Burluk, Synkivka in the Kharkiv region;
• Nadiia, Tverdokhlibove, Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region;
• Nove, Terni, Bohdanivka, Predtechyne, Druzhba, Oleksandropil, Pokrovsk, Novobakhmutivka, Orlivka, Umanske, Pervomaiske, Netailove, Kurakhove, Vodiane, Vuhledar, Urozhaine, Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region;
• Verkhnia Tersa, Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region.

Additionally, over 80 populated areas in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.

Frontline situation

In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains unchanged.

In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in border areas, conducts sabotage activities to prevent our troops from being redeployed to threatening areas, and increases the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy launched 11 attacks in the areas of the settlements of Synkivka and Tabaivka in the Kharkiv region, unsuccessfully trying to improve its tactical position.

In the Lyman direction, our troops repulsed 5 enemy attacks in the areas of the settlements of Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region, Terni, and Verkhniokamianske in the Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, the Defense Forces repulsed 5 enemy attacks in the areas of the settlements of Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, and Andriivka in the Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, our defenders repulsed 20 enemy attacks in the areas of the settlements of Berdychi, Orlivka, Tonenke, Pervomaiske, and Nevelske in the Donetsk region.

In the Novopavlivka direction, the Defense Forces continued to restrain the enemy in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, where the enemy tried to break through our troops' defense over 30 times.

In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy carried out 3 unsuccessful attacks in the area of the settlement of Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Kherson direction, the Defense Forces continue to hold their positions. The enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) actions.

At the same time, our troops continue active operations to inflict losses on the occupation forces in personnel and equipment, wearing down the enemy along the entire front line.

Enemy losses

During the day, the defense aviation struck at 7 areas of concentration of enemy personnel.

The total number of losses of the Russian army since the beginning of the invasion is 416,800 military personnel.
