Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of February 27

Ukrainian soldiers are holding positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River, repulsed Russian attacks near Klishchiivka (the Donetsk region) and hit the enemy's radar station, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian shelling
The enemy continues to wage an aggressive war. Despite significant losses, they refuse to abandon plans for the complete occupation of Ukraine, ignoring the laws and customs of war, employing terror tactics, and striking military as well as civilian targets.
The enemy actively employs aviation and FPV quadcopters, conducting assault operations with armored support. The operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains challenging. Within the past day, there have been 86 combat engagements.
Overall, the enemy has launched 4 missile strikes and 52 airstrikes, along with 94 shelling incidents using rocket artillery systems targeting our troops' positions and civilian areas. Unfortunately, due to Russian terrorist attacks, there have been casualties among the civilian population. Multistory buildings, private residences, and other infrastructure have suffered damage and destruction.
Frontline situation
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, there have been no significant changes in the operational situation. There are no signs of the formation of advancing enemy groups. Identified units of the Armed Forces of Belarus are fulfilling tasks in border areas with Ukraine.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, Russian troops maintain a military presence in border areas, conduct sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shell populated areas from the territory of the Russian Federation, and increase the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border of Ukraine.
The enemy conducted airstrikes in the vicinity of populated areas Chernatske, Chuikivka, Khrapivshchyna, Hrabovske, Yunakivka in the Sumy region and Bologivka in the Kharkiv region. Artillery and mortar shelling by the enemy targeted over 30 populated areas, including Hrinivka in the Chernihiv region; Znob-Trubchevska, Seredyna-Buda, Stara Huta in the Sumy region; Kozacha Lopan, Ohirtseve, Hatysche, Pletenivka in the Kharkiv region.
In the Kupiansk direction, Defense Forces repelled 11 enemy attacks in the areas of populated settlements Synkivka and Tabaiivka, where the enemy unsuccessfully attempted to dislodge our forces from their positions.
Over 10 populated areas, including Synkivka, Stepova Novoselivka, and Pishchane in the Kharkiv region, came under artillery and mortar fire.
In the Lyman direction, our troops repelled 9 enemy attacks in the area of the populated settlement Terny in the Donetsk region, where the enemy unsuccessfully tried to break through our troops' defense. The enemy conducted airstrikes in the vicinity of populated areas Vyiemka and Vesele in the Donetsk region.
More than 10 populated areas suffered from artillery and mortar shelling, including Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region, and Terni, Yampolivka, Torske, Serebrianka, Rozdolivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, Defense Forces repelled 6 enemy attacks in the areas of populated settlements Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka in the Donetsk region, where the enemy attempted to improve its tactical position. The enemy conducted airstrikes in the vicinity of populated areas Bohdanivka and Druzhba in the Donetsk region.
Additionally, over 10 populated areas came under artillery and mortar fire, including Orihovo-Vasylivka, Hryhorivka, Ivanivske in the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, our defenders repelled 18 enemy attacks in the areas of populated settlements Berdychiv, Orlivka, Tonenke, Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region. The enemy conducted airstrikes in the vicinity of populated areas Novoselivka Persha and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region.
Around 20 populated areas suffered from enemy artillery and mortar shelling, including Novobakhmutivka, Semenivka, Orlivka, and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region.
In the Novopavlivka direction, Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Novomykhailivka, and west of Pobeda in the Donetsk region, where the enemy attempted 15 times to break through our troops' defense. Additionally, 4 more enemy attacks were repelled in the areas south of Vuhledar, Staromykhailivskyi, and Urozhaine in the Donetsk region. The enemy conducted airstrikes in the vicinity of populated areas Kurakhove, Krasnohorivka, Novomykhailivka, Vodyane, Staromykhailivskyi, and Urozhaine in the Donetsk region.
Close to 20 populated areas came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Novomykhailivka, Paraskeviiivka, Kostiantynivka, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Blahodatne, Staromykhailivskyi, and Urozhaine in Donetsk region.
In the Orikhiv direction, Defense Forces repelled 6 enemy attacks in the areas of populated settlements Malynivka and Robotine in the Zaporizhzhia region. The enemy conducted airstrikes in the vicinity of populated areas Levadne, Mala Tokmachka, Orikhiv, and Robotine in Zaporizhzhia region.
Approximately 15 populated areas came under enemy artillery and mortar shelling, including Poltavka, Charivne, Bilohiria, Robotine, and Novodanylivka in the Zaporizhzhia region.
In the Kherson direction, the enemy conducted an airstrike in the vicinity of the populated settlement Molodizhne in the Kherson region.
Around 20 populated areas suffered from enemy artillery and mortar shelling, including Tyahynka, Tokarivka, Krynyky, Ivanivka, Lvove, Ponyativka in the Kherson region.
Ukrainian Armed Forces offensive
The enemy persists in its intention to dislodge our units from bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro River. During the day, there was 1 attempt to storm the positions of our troops.
Enemy losses
During the day, the defense forces' aviation conducted strikes on 15 areas of the enemy's personnel concentration. Additionally, units of the Ukrainian Air Force destroyed 2 Su-34 fighter-bombers and 4 reconnaissance UAVs.
Missile forces units inflicted damage on 3 areas of enemy personnel concentration, equipment, and military vehicles, destroying 2 artillery units, an air defense system, and a radar station of the enemy.
It's worth noting that the total number of losses in the Russian army since the beginning of the invasion is 411,550 military personnel.
