Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of February 12

During the day, the defense forces' aviation struck 13 areas where Russian personnel were concentrated. Despite significant losses, the enemy refuses to abandon plans for the full occupation of Ukraine, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.
Attacks by Russians continue
Despite significant losses, the aggressor refuses to abandon plans for the full occupation of Ukraine, ignoring the laws and customs of war, employing terror tactics, striking military and civilian targets alike. The enemy actively deploys aviation and FPV-type quadcopters, conducting assault operations with armored support.
During the day, there were 63 skirmishes.
In total, the enemy launched 5 missile strikes, 71 aerial attacks, and carried out 45 artillery bombardments using multiple rocket launch systems against our troops' positions and civilian areas. Unfortunately, there are casualties among the civilian population due to Russian terrorist attacks. Multistory and private residences, as well as other civilian infrastructure, have been destroyed or damaged.
The situation on the fronts
On the Volyn and Polissia fronts, there have been no significant changes in the operational situation. There are no signs of the formation of offensive groupings. Identified units of the Belarusian armed forces are carrying out tasks in border areas with Ukraine.
On the Siversk and Slobozhanske fronts, the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shells populated areas from the territory of the Russian Federation, increases the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border of Ukraine. Russian occupiers subjected about 20 populated areas to artillery and mortar fire, including Volodymyrivka, Ponomarenkyi, Volfyne, Stepok in the Sumy region; Udy, Kozacha Lopan, Lukyantsi, Vovchansk in the Kharkiv region.
On the Kupiansk front, our defenders repelled an enemy attack in the area of the settlement of Tabaivka in the Kharkiv region, where the enemy unsuccessfully attempted to break through the defense of our troops. About 10 populated areas, including Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Stepova Novoselivka, and Kotliarivka in the Kharkiv region, came under artillery and mortar fire.
On the Lyman front, our warriors repelled an enemy attack in the area of the settlement of Terny in the Donetsk region, where the enemy unsuccessfully attempted to break through the defense of our troops. The enemy carried out an airstrike in the area of the settlement of Vyiivka in the Donetsk region. More than 10 populated areas, including Nevsiiske, Serebrianka forestry in the Luhansk region, and Torske, Serebrianka, and Rozdolivka in the Donetsk region, suffered from enemy artillery and mortar shelling.
On the Bakhmut front, defense forces repelled 6 enemy attacks in the areas of the settlements of Bohdanivka, Andriivka, and Klishchiivka in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, with aviation support, unsuccessfully attempted to improve tactical positions. Also, the enemy carried out an airstrike in the area of the settlement of New York in the Donetsk region. About 10 populated areas, including Kalynivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, and New York in the Donetsk region, came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.
On the Avdiivka front, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 14 enemy attacks in the area of Avdiivka and another 4 attacks in the areas of Tonezke and Nevelske in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, with aviation support, unsuccessfully attempted to break through the defense of our troops. Also, Russian aggressors carried out airstrikes in the areas of the settlements of Novokalynove in the Donetsk region. About 20 populated areas, including Novokalynove, Novobakhmutivka, Berdychiv, Lastochkyne, and Avdiivka in the Donetsk region, suffered from enemy artillery and mortar shelling.
On the Maryinka front, defense forces continue to restrain the enemy in the areas of Heorhiivka, Pobieda, and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, where the enemy, with aviation support, attempted to improve tactical positions 25 times. Also, the enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of the settlements of Kostiantynivka and Paraskoviivka in the Donetsk region. Populated areas of the Donetsk region, such as Kurakhove, Pobieda, Novomykhailivka, Katerynivka, and Paraskoviivka, came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.
On the Novopavlivka front, our defenders repelled an enemy attack in the area south of Prechystivka in the Donetsk region. About 10 populated areas, including Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, Blahodatne in the Donetsk region, came under artillery and mortar fire.
On the Zaporizhzhia front, defense forces repelled an enemy attack in the area west of Novopokrovka in the Zaporizhzhia region. About 20 populated areas, including Poltavka, Malynivka, Chervone, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, Mali Shcherbaky in the Zaporizhzhia region, suffered from enemy artillery and mortar shelling.
On the Kherson front, the enemy remains determined to dislodge our units from the bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Thus, during the day, there were 2 unsuccessful attempts to storm the positions of our troops. Populated areas of the Kherson region, such as Kherson, Antonivka, Poniativka, came under artillery fire. The enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of the settlements of Krupytsia, Krynka, Beryslav in the Kherson region. Also, the enemy conducted shelling from reactive multiple rocket launchers in the areas of the settlements of Lvove, Tiahynka, Ivanivka, Krynka in the Kherson region.
Enemy losses
During the day, the air force of the defense forces struck 13 areas of concentration of enemy personnel, weapons, and military equipment. With the forces and means of Ukraine's air defense, 6 reconnaissance UAVs were destroyed.
Missile forces units inflicted damage on 1 artillery weapon of the enemy.
