Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of September 25

Ukrainian forces successfully repelled Russian attacks in the Maryinka and Bakhmut directions, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The attacks by Russia
Russia launched another attack, firing 12 Kalibr cruise missiles, two anti-ship missiles P-800 Oniks, and 19 Iranian strike UAVs of the Shahed-136/131 type at the port infrastructure of the Odesa region.
Ukraine's air defense successfully intercepted and destroyed 11 Kalibr cruise missiles and all 19 Shahed UAVs. In total, the enemy carried out 14 missile strikes and 57 aviation attacks, along with over 40 shelling incidents using rocket artillery on Ukrainian positions and civilian areas.
As a result of these Russian terrorist attacks, there have been casualties and injuries among the civilian population. Residential buildings, a hotel, a kindergarten, and other civilian infrastructure have also been damaged or destroyed.
Frontline situation
The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains challenging, with 17 clashes reported during the day.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, there have been no significant changes in the operational situation. There are no signs of the enemy forming offensive groupings. Identified units of the Belarusian armed forces are carrying out tasks in border areas with Ukraine.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the adversary maintains its military presence in border areas, continues shelling populated areas from Russian territory, and increases the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border of Ukraine.
The enemy launched airstrikes near Leonivka in the Chernihiv region, Popivka, and Ponomarenky in the Sumy region. Over 25 populated areas were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling, including Klusy, Bleshnia, Hremiachka, and Kostobobriv in the Chernihiv region; Bila Bereza, Volfyne, Myropillia, Riaskne, and Pozhnia in the Sumy region, and Ohirtseve, Hatysche, Nesternye, and Budarky in the Kharkiv region.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy conducted airstrikes near Synkivka, Ivanivka, and Kyslivka in the Kharkiv region. More than 10 populated areas, including Novomylnsk, Lyman Pershyi, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Kotliarivka, and Tabaiivka in the Kharkiv region, were under artillery and mortar fire.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy's airstrikes targeted the populated areas of Nadiia, Nevske, and Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region and Svirne, Vasiukivka in the Donetsk region. Over 15 populated areas suffered from artillery and mortar shelling, including Nevske, and Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region, and Zarichne, Dybrova, Fedorivka, and Nykyforivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled an enemy attack in the area of Klishchiivka in the Donetsk region. The enemy conducted an airstrike near Pivnichne in the Donetsk region. Over 25 populated areas were under artillery and mortar fire, including Minkivka, Bohdanivka, Chasiv Yar, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, and Kurdiumivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, over 10 populated areas, including Novobakhmutivka, Keramik, Avdiivka, Tonenke, Severne, and Orlivka in the Donetsk region, were under artillery and mortar fire.
In the Maryinka direction, Ukrainian forces successfully repelled 7 enemy attacks directly in the Maryinka area of the Donetsk region. The enemy attempted to regain lost ground in the area of Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region but did not succeed. Instead, the enemy conducted an airstrike in the area.
More than 10 populated areas, including Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, Antonivka, Katerynivka, Yelyzavetivka, Kurakhove, and others in the Donetsk region, were under fire.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, the enemy conducted an airstrike near Urozhaine in the Donetsk region. Nearly 10 populated areas, including Vodiane, Vuhledar, Novoukrainka, Prechystivka, and Zolota Nyva in Urozhaine in the Donetsk region, came under artillery and mortar fire.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy conducted airstrikes near Verbove and Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region. About 30 populated areas, including Chervone, Orikhiv, Mali Shcherbaky, Stepove, Piatyhatky, and Kamianske in the Zaporizhzhia region, were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Kherson direction, enemy airstrikes targeted Beryslav, Odradokamianka, Olhivka, and Lvove in the Kherson region. The occupiers shelled nearly 10 populated areas in the Kherson region, including Kherson, Tokariivka, Antonivka in the Kherson region, and Ochakiv in the Mykolaiv region.
Ukrainian counteroffensive
The Ukrainian Armed Forces continue their offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, conducting offensive (assault) actions in the Bakhmut direction, inflicting losses on the occupying forces in personnel and equipment, and wearing down the enemy along the entire front line.
Losses of the Russians
During the day, the aviation of the Defense Forces carried out 11 strikes on areas where personnel, weaponry, and military equipment were concentrated, and one strike on the enemy's anti-aircraft missile system.
Units of the missile forces hit nine artillery pieces, the area of concentration of weaponry and military equipment, an ammunition depot, and the enemy's electronic warfare station.
