Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of September 15
Ukrainian military forces have achieved partial success in the Donetsk region. Meanwhile, Russian occupiers have been unsuccessful in their advances on two fronts, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian attacks
During the past day, there were 17 combat clashes. Additionally, Russia conducted another aviation strike using Iranian combat UAVs Shahed-136/131. As a result of successful combat operations carried out by the Air Forces in coordination with air defense and other components of the defense forces, all 17 enemy Shaheds were destroyed.
Overall, the enemy carried out 54 aviation strikes and conducted 20 shelling attacks from multiple rocket launchers on the positions of Ukrainian troops and civilian areas. Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in casualties among the civilian population.
Frontline situation
The operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains complex.
On the Volyn and Polissia fronts, there have been no significant changes in the operational situation. There are no signs of the formation of offensive groups. Identified units of the Belarusian armed forces are carrying out tasks in border areas with Ukraine.
On the Siversk and Slobozhanske fronts, the enemy maintains a military presence in border areas and continues shelling settlements from Russian territory.
They conducted aviation strikes in the areas of Leonivka, Hremiach in the Chernihiv region. Approximately 20 settlements were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling.
On the Kupiansk front, the enemy conducted aviation strikes in the areas of Kotliarivka in the Kharkiv region and Novoselivske in the Luhansk region. The enemy also shelled settlements in the area of Dvorichna, Masiutivka, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, Kyslivka in the Kharkiv region.
On the Lyman front, the enemy did not engage in offensive actions. Aviation strikes targeted areas in Novoiehorivka, Makiivka, Nevske, Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region, and Spirne, Vesele in the Donetsk region. Over 10 settlements were affected by artillery and mortar shelling.
On the Bakhmut front, the enemy attempted to regain lost positions in the areas of Yahidne and Bohdanivka in the Donetsk region. The enemy also conducted aviation strikes in the Bohdanivka and New York areas in the Donetsk region. Over 20 settlements were under artillery and mortar fire.
On the Avdiivka front, the enemy did not engage in offensive actions. Approximately 10 settlements were shelled with artillery and mortars.
On the Maryinka front, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled 7 enemy attacks in the area of Maryinka during the day. The enemy conducted an aviation strike in the Krasnohorivka area of the Donetsk region, where artillery and mortar shelling continued. Approximately 10 settlements were under enemy fire.
On the Shakhtarsk front, enemy aviation strikes targeted areas in Urozhaine and Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region. Over 10 settlements were shelled with artillery and mortars.
On the Zaporizhzhia front, the enemy conducted aviation strikes in the areas of Mala Tokmachka and Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region. Over 20 settlements were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling.
On the Kherson front, approximately 10 settlements were shelled by enemy artillery and mortars.
Offensive actions of Ukrainian forces
Defense forces continue their offensive operation on the Melitopol front, and conduct offensive (assault) actions on the Bakhmut front, destroying the enemy and gradually liberating occupied territories. As a result of the ongoing assault operations, the defense forces have achieved partial success in the Klishchiivka area of the Donetsk region.
Extraordinary events
Due to catastrophic losses suffered by the occupiers, and in order to supply the newly formed 25th Combined Arms Army of the Russian Armed Forces, mobilization measures are being carried out among the local population in the Primorsky and Khabarovsk Krais of Russia. This includes active recruitment efforts in vocational schools, technical colleges, and orphanages to enlist Russian military personnel who have completed the mentioned educational institutions.
Upon enlistment in military service, occupation recruiters offer a one-time payment of 600,000 rubles and financial support of at least 200,000 rubles.
