Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of September 1st

The Russian invaders are conducting unsuccessful offensives on five fronts. Moreover, there have been 31 military clashes on the frontlines in a single day, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian attacks
Over the course of a day, the enemy launched four missile strikes and 30 airstrikes, along with 32 shelling incidents from multiple rocket launcher systems targeting Ukrainian military positions and civilian areas.
As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, there have been casualties and injuries among the civilian population. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have also been damaged.
The likelihood of missile and airstrike attacks across Ukraine's territory remains high.
Frontline situation
During the past day, there were 31 combat engagements.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains relatively stable.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy conducted artillery and mortar shelling on more than 20 populated areas, including Huta-Studenetska, Karpovychi in Chernihiv region, Vyntorivka, Romashkove, Shalyhyne, Simeikyne, Wolfyne, and Volodymyrivka in Sumy region, as well as Udy, Kozacha Lopan, Ternova, Karaichne, Khrypuny, Kolodiazne in the Kharkiv region.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy's attempted offensive operations near Novoselivka in the Luhansk region were unsuccessful. They conducted an airstrike near Krokhmalske in the Kharkiv region. Over 10 populated areas suffered from enemy artillery and mortar shelling, including Stroiivka, Novomlynske, Petropavlivka, Kyslivka, Pishchane, and Druzheliubivka in the Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy conducted airstrikes in the areas of Novoiegorivka and Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region. Over 10 populated areas suffered from enemy artillery attacks, including Makiivka, Nevske, and Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region, as well as Myrne, Torske, Sviato-Pokrovske, Ivanо-Dariivka, Nykyforivka, and Rozdolivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy's attempted offensive operations near Kurdiumivka in the Donetsk region were unsuccessful. They conducted airstrikes in the areas of Stupochkiv, Bila Hora, and New York in the Donetsk region. Over 15 populated areas suffered from enemy artillery shelling, including Vasiukivka, Hryhorivka, Bakhmut, Bila Hora, Dachne, and Pivdenne in the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, the enemy's attempted offensive operations near Siverne in the Donetsk region were unsuccessful. They continued to conduct artillery and mortar shelling on the populated areas of Keramik, Stepove, Siverne, Nevelske, and Memryk in the Donetsk region.
In the Maryinka direction, the enemy's attempted offensive operations near Krasnohorivka in the Donetsk region were unsuccessful. Populated areas such as Oleksandrivka, Hostre, Maryinka, Novomykhailivka, and Katerynivka in the Donetsk region were affected by enemy artillery shelling.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, the enemy's attempted offensive operations near Velyka Novosilka in the Donetsk region were unsuccessful. They conducted an airstrike in the area of Staromaiiorske in the Donetsk region. Over 10 populated areas suffered from enemy artillery shelling, including Vodiane, Novomykhailivka, Velyka Novosilka, Urozhaine, Vilne Pole, and Novopil in the Donetsk region.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy conducted airstrikes in the areas of Maliivka in the Zaporizhzhia region. Over 15 populated areas suffered from enemy artillery shelling, including Novodarivka, Chervone, Charivne, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanilivka, Mali Shcherbaky in the Zaporizhzhia region, as well as Nikopol in the Dnipro region.
In the Kherson direction, the enemy shelled over 10 populated areas with artillery, including Zolota Balka, Mylove, Kozatske, Burhunka, Tokariivka, and Yamtarne in the Kherson region.
Ukraine's advance
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian forces continue their offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, consolidating their positions and conducting counter-battery measures.
Russian losses
During the day, the Ukrainian Air Force conducted six airstrikes on areas where enemy personnel, weaponry, and military equipment were concentrated, and four airstrikes on enemy anti-aircraft missile systems.
The units of missile forces and artillery inflicted damage on ten artillery pieces at firing positions, one ammunition depot, and one enemy radar station throughout the day.
